    Antec Sonata III Mid-Tower Case

I should mention that the fan of the EarthWatts power supply in this case is thermally controlled, so it is actually controlled by the temperature of the air flowing through the power supply, not by the amount of power being supplied (though power output and heat generated can often have a...

Tesla to produce 800 cars in first year

Actually, even though the Prius plug-in hybrid goes only 8 miles before the ICE has to kick in, that's a long enough distance for many of the short trips people in America take to places like the grocery store and stuff. It might not be enough to be a huge commercial success, but that kind of...

Having fat friends.. makes you fat

Last summer when I lived far away from home in an unfamiliar area, I never ate out at all, and always cooked for myself. Even cooking Hamburger Helper for dinner and having the odd can of soda with lunch, I lost 15 pounds. This summer I weighed 195 pounds going in, and I've gained most of that...

    Hummer Owner Gets Angry Message

    It's "Prius", not "Primus".

Hook up PSU fan for CPU cooler wiring dilemma.

Well, what I explained was simply what I'd do based on my own knowledge. I'm reasonably sure that it would work, because I think the two black wires both represent 'ground', so the color coding scheme is exactly like a typical 3-wire, RPM-monitoring fan.

    en7950gt...below expectations...

Yeah, the power supply wouldn't be to blame for slow performance. It would only be the culprit if the system experiences random shutdowns and restarts under load.

    140mm Fans

I think that 140mm fans may become more prevalent, but only as a gimmick. The trend in computer hardware in general is away from high-wattage processors ( = lots of heat output) like the AMD Athlon and Pentium 4 and toward more power-efficient designs. Other heat-producing parts like the Radeon...

Hook up PSU fan for CPU cooler wiring dilemma.

I think you can tie the two black wires together (ground), and then splice the yellow, black, and red wires into the corresponding wires on a three-pin connector. Red is power, black is ground, and then the yellow wire is the RPM feedback, usually negatively pulled-up (that is, a circuit sends...

    Thermaltake Mozart VC4000 HTPC Case

I'd like to personally say sorry to Thermaltake that it took me so long to get this review done. I had the review sample for almost two months. My day job hasn't been making it very easy lately for me to get reviews done quickly, but hopefully I can make some lifestyle changes to get these...

    Reproted Illegal Tatics

Another observation I'd make on the situation is that AMD does way less marketing (oriented toward the electronics consumer) than Intel, so there's probably a good deal less brand recognition for AMD these days. This means AMD can only do well in the consumer market in situations where their...

    Seagate FreeAgent Pro 750GB

To those having trouble with the input module, have you made sure to tighten the screw on the bottom of the unit completely? If it's not tightened (using a coin, not a screwdriver), the input module could conceivably jostle loose. If you have a drive that doesn't include the Memeo software...

    Our Handles / Nicknames here

"Taterworks" is what I once thought I would call my web design service, but I never did any projects. The Legend Of The Taters, however, had its origins in my high school marching band career, and served as the inspiration for a variety of hilarious shenanigans.

    anyone has 20" LG?

Maybe that person was embellishing, or otherwise taking you for a ride. @ccdarkness: If you have HP products over there, they have some nice monitors in this product generation.

ORB Audio Mod2 Home Theater System

It depends on what you're looking for. These aren't PC speakers, or at least, not as most people think of them. That's actual steel and stainless -- these are beefy little speakers. The sub is also far above what I've seen in any PC speaker package, including Logitech's 8". If ORB Audio brings...

    Thermaltake Toughpower Modular 750W PSU

Unfortunately, there's no software you can install. In fact, any monitoring of power supply operation is motherboard-based, so it can only analyze the voltage coming out of the power supply and into your PC -- it can't actually see the other 'side' of the power supply, where AC voltage comes in...

    Razer Pro Solutions Pro|Click v1.6 and Pro|Type

Well, the music player quick-access button always tried to open iTunes if it was available, instead of opening the music player that was selected, and then the shuffle key didn't work in either WMP11 or iTunes. I expected more from a high-end product like the Pro|Type. I wasn't too impressed...

    Altec Lansing AHP524 Headphones

I went and had a listen to these headphones at Colin's house. For $25, they're an exceptional bargain (if you don't mind the less-than-robust build quality).

    My First Gamer Computer

Is there any reason you would be opposed to buying a new card through retail channels? That card looks good, but buying it in a retail box means you could have full warranty protection, while the warranty on a card you'd buy from eBay may or may not be valid.

    Selecting a Power Supply

Just a little mini-review for y'all... I bought an Etasis ET750 750W power supply recently. Etasis is the OEM for three of the Silverstone Zeus series power supplies, the 560W, 750W, and 850W, but they've entered the market under their own brand name as well. It's an extended-length power...
