Free Games Courtesy of EA and Ubisoft

I believe it's ads just pasted around the game. And if anyone dislikes them that much, just pony up the $10 to pick it up at most B&M or game stores. Far Cry especially can be found anywhere on the cheap.

Vista Or Net Access... Which Would You Choose?

Well that's not really the problem here. Vista left behind the older way the networking works in Vista, hence this problem. I am still unsure how it would be impossible to get online if you were using Vista though... it just doesn't seem to make that much sense.

California Bans Forced Employee RFID Tagging

From our news: It's not difficult to see that RFID is becoming increasingly popular and more difficult by the day to avoid, but did you know that there have actually been companies that have planted RFID tags into their employees? It's a matter of "get tagged or look elsewhere for a job."...

    Hard-Drive That Features 1GB of DDR2 RAM

From our news: Hybrid hard drives are a welcomed innovation because they are low power and very efficient. However, as Ars Technica reports, there may be even better drives on the horizon. A company by the name of Mcell has produced a hard drive that includes a 1GB stick of DDR2 ram, essentially...

    ASUS Xonar D2 Sound Card

At Computex 2007, ASUS wowed us with their new Xonar range of audio products, aiming to take a chunk of Creative’s market share in the high end PC audio category. Now we’ve got our hands on the ASUS Xonar D2, and we’re putting it to the test. Does the newcomer Xonar D2 have what it takes to...

From our news: If you happen to be in the mood for gaming this week but are strapped for cash, no worries as both EA and Ubisoft have got you covered. This past week, Ubisoft released four titles absolutely free: Far Cry, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time and Rayman...

MPAA Says No To Suing Movie Fans, Yes To Purchasing E-mails

From our news:It's no surprise that companies whine about things for the wrong reasons, and it's also no surprise that they'd complain about illegal practices that effect their product, but then go behind everyone's back and take part in shady practices themselves. Take the MPAA, who constantly...

    Backing Up Your Linux

I've never heard of Grsync, I will need to check it out sometime. As for how rsync works, I believe it first compares timestamps for each file and then digs deep into the file to figure out which is newer. The algorithm can be found here: http://rsync.samba.org/tech_report/node2.html Whenever...

Vista Or Net Access... Which Would You Choose?

From our news:If there is anything that you've gained from reading our news, it's probably that not too many of us on staff enjoy Windows Vista. But who can blame us? Even Microsoft themselves know that Vista is a pain, but the sad thing is that the "fixes" are not coming quick enough...

    How Does 17,000% Profit Sound?

From our news:It's likely that at some point during our lives, we look back at something and regret it highly. Of course, no one owns a De Lorean anymore, so we can't exactly go back in time to right our wrongs. Luckily, there is a great way to make yourself feel better about the past... look at...

    AMD X2 4200+ 939?

Like Nate said, it will be worth it if you multi-task a lot. Gaming, it won't make a real difference with. If you don't care THAT much about smoother multi-tasking, or faster multi-threaded-capable apps, I'd put the money aside and save up for a full revamped rig.

    NBC & Apple Break Up

$1.99 doesn't seem a little low at all. Most people who buy these episodes buy more than one... each week. That would add up awful fast. Also from our news, as a follow-up:We posted yesterday that NBC and Apple were officially breaking up. According to Apple, it was primarily due to the fact...

    Google Earth flight sim?

Yes, such a thing actually exists. If you are using the latest version of GE (4.2), then you can access a built-in flight simulation mode. There is no sound, but it's fun to goof around with regardless. http://marco-za.blogspot.com/2007/08/google-earth-flight-simulator.html After playing...

Buying a car from a different Country?

Ugh, heh. I wonder if that's common practice all around, or if it's something that only Lexus does? I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought of doing this, and it's an even better thing that he called the dealer first, before traveling all the way down there. "The manufacturer's suggested...
