    3DMark Vantage next week?

Not sure what the pricing will be, but I'm sure it will be right around there. I agree though... it's an application more for the hardcore overclockers, which is why it includes a one-time only free run.

Apple Acquires Low-Power Chip Maker P.A. Semi

According to a new post at C|Net, Apple is not interested in the chips themselves, but rather the engineering genius of the employees: http://www.news.com/8301-13579_3-9927806-37.html

    Simple KDE Rsyncing with Komparator

From our front-page news: If you at all frequent our news, then you are probably aware that I use Linux most of the time. It's on my main work machine, while Windows is on the gaming rig and also the primary benchmarking machine that's responsible for most of our performance-related articles...

    Free NIN Single "Discipline"

http://dl.nin.com/discipline/nin Woo hoo! After Ghosts, I would have never thought a new album would be en route so fast, but after listening to this new track, I am PUMPED UP. Rumors are rampant about the new album's release date. On iTunes, there's apparently hints of "May 5", although that...

    Becoming an Energy Drink Connoisseur

From our front-page news: If there is one fad to catch on quick, it would have to be the energy drink. Like soda, they can be extremely addictive, so it's no wonder that it's grown into a $10 billion a year industry. But for those of you who think energy drinks end with the Red Bull's...

    Going Vista 64-Bit...

http://techgage.com/article/windows_vista_version_comparison/ That information is a tad outdated, but most of it is still relevant. If it's all the same price, go for the Ultimate edition. If it's cheaper, go with Home Premium. Those are the only two options to consider, really.

    Super Talent Releases Ultra-Fast DDR3-1800 4GB Kit

That's the weird thing... it seems the budget boards have a better chance of achieving a high overclock. The P5N-E SLI I reviewed back in Dec 06 came close to 500MHz... and since then, no luck. I do have a Gigabyte X48T-DQ6 here. I need to benchmark another board first, then that will be going...

Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 - The New Budget Superstar?

This review has been getting a ton of traffic... I'm rather impressed. It was linked from a lot of popular French tech sites also, which helps out a great deal. I'm definitely pleased :-)

    Going Vista 64-Bit...

That's the thing. Compatibility has never been good with x64 XP, and it's most certainly not going to begin improving. I admit I have been having rather great luck with 64-Bit Vista... and I still find the 32-Bit to be more problematic (for whatever reason, I'm unsure).

    RV770 is ATI 4800?

Sorry, I meant 1GB card for NVIDIA. I e-mailed one company, but didn't get a response. I think they are worried that I'd find out having 1GB on a GPU is useless, because their entire lineup features 1GB cards for each model. I'll get one somehow.

    ASUS Releases Ultra-Silent EN9600GT

Due to being so swamped with CPU and motherboard benchmarking, I've been unable to tear this one out of the box, but I should have a review next week. I admit I can't wait. I love the 9600 GT... it's such a great card for the price point. Then we have one that's completely silent? For a $5 -...

ASUS to Re-Release Windows XP Eee PC in June with Intel Atom Processor

I couldn't agree more, haha. Sounds like dream come true for a lot of people. Be nice for a long plane ride where a power socket isn't available, that's for sure.

    Super Talent Releases Ultra-Fast DDR3-1800 4GB Kit

Well, most high-performance RAM, including this stuff, would require a CPU overclock, so it would all scale. DDR3-1800 would be 450MHz FSB, and likewise, DDR3-2000 would be 500MHz. The latter is the reason I haven't been reviewing RAM lately. I can't seem to find a board to handle 500MHz FSB...

Apple Acquires Low-Power Chip Maker P.A. Semi

It's a strange move, that's for sure. I think most of it has to do with Apple's desire to become self-sufficient. They'd get rid of Intel entirely if they could create their own efficient CPU.

New modder competition site, from MaximumPC

Great to hear man! The pay coming out even is just fine I'm sure. If you are like me, you value a lack of stress much more than an extra chunk of cash. You don't live longer from stressing out, heh. Good luck on the position regardless, and hopefully we can see Duece finished up soon and other...

From our front-page news: It seems like just seven months ago that AMD was rumored to be releasing three-core processors. Oh wait, it was seven months ago!
