I wonder what scores one of the new Opty 165's would do at 3ghz or better? That score is great, but I'd like to see an AMD processor do SuperPi at 6Ghz! I've got to give the man credit though, to get a 203% overclock out of a processor is absolutely GREAT!

I don't quite see the need for these new chips.. They'll fill in some gaps that really aren't quite large. It may be another way of using up some of the extra cores before releasing another major revision.

I haven't ever had that problem with mine. :rolleyes: Unless there's an issue with your drivers or the mb usb drivers that shouldn't happen. I can unplug and switch usb ports, and still plug it back in and get that "detected new hardware" sound and it works just fine. That seems odd to me...

It's a 10x multiplier he states further in the review.. so it must be 300Mhz fsb. I was looking at getting the Opty 150 which has a 12x multiplier, and boosting the fsb to 250 would result in 3Ghz speeds without to much strain. I think the Zalman9500 would do nicely to keep the temps down.

Yeah I've got a PNY 512 for swapping over music or files for friends. As well as software for people without internet service. I had a PNY 256meg but I stuck it in a bad usb port and it fried. I met a man washed and dried his pny and it still worked. Says something about the quality!

Agreed, you're going to pay more in markup at a retail store, and Newegg has great shipping rates. You'll have no problem getting anything you want online and most of the time it's cheaper.
