    Autologon tool for Windows.

I have wondered where you were coming from WRT OOP. I am a C++ guy tho recent activity wouldn't support that ... recent code has been VBA as that does seem to be the in vogue scripting language for the software I use. Back to the C++, there are tricks to prevent assemblers from adding in default...

    The new build ...

Being an OC-er I usually have the fans running full tilt all of the time. There are no high speed noisy fans, BTW. So there is a little noise, but not so much. A huge amount of dust tho.:( Thanks for reminding me about smart fans. I do have a couple of smart fans, someplace ... in storage in FL...

    The new build ...

Home Depot parts ... The thing about Home Depot parts, is that they look way too obvious like Home Depot parts. Today was supposed to be all about getting cheap fittings to match the 1/2" ID tubing to the old system radiator. The PITA is that the fittings are on the side of the old Swiftech...

    The new build ...

So, you know and coincidentally, you just reviewed this graphics card ... well a pair of them I guess. It is coincidental in that I had ordered the card before you published the review. So a "nice pair" could be in my future.:eek: I have been taking pix in a hi res mode with my cell...

    The new build ...

On the same day (Thursday) the order for the WC parts was placed, I made the 'egg order; ASUS P6X58D, I7 920, 12 GB Corsair Dominator RAM, XFX Radeon HD 5770, Samsung F1 500 GB HDD, & a replacement Trendnet "Green" Ethernet switch ... obviously unrelated to the new computer. Newegg...

    The new build ...

The old WC system was all bought from Swiftech. I will re-use an Eheim model 1048 110 VAC pump, 2x120 radiator, & MCRES reservoir. Of course the water block will be new & I chose the Swiftech Apogee XT ... the current high ranking block for the I7 1366 socket. Also replaced will be the tubing...

If You Want Privacy, You're Obviously Hiding Something

you could be in the UK ... http://spectrum.ieee.org/telecom/security/spectral-lines-uk-wants-to-track-every-move-you-make Soooo ... this suggests to me that all the search engines would be doing the same? And, since the capability is in the UK, it is everywhere.

    The new build ...

... or upgrade ... or gutting an old machine & putting in all new stuff. This thread will about the progress & will have pix (as soon as I figure out how:confused:). For the 1st time ever I have taken other's advice (Rob, 2Tired2Tango, Kougar, gibbersome, Merlin & at least someone else) about...

    Are chat clients much help?

Perhaps it is the type of customer I have & business that I am in, but I don't know anyone using them anymore. It has been a few years since I have used one.

ATI Radeon HD 5770 CrossFireX Performance

I just bought 1 of these for the new build. I haven't yet received it yet or anything else. I am considering getting another in a week or 2 after things are running. My selection choice was about anticipated compatibility, DirectX 11, & price. And good to know about performance.

    The Black Friday Roundup Roundup

a new vendor for me ... Performance PCs I found while looking for some way to change the fittings of the Eheim 1040 pump from 1/4" tubing to 1/2". It seems the Eheims in general have differently threaded ga-zintas & ga-zoutas. Hmmm, I put this in the wrong thread & can't delete ... not a much...

Need to Warm Up? How About a USB Hand-Warmer?

I agree that is pretty silly ... this is much more useful http://www.gadgetreview.com/2009/09/msn-usb-missile-launcher-this-aint-a-job-its-an-arms-race.html and if some else has http://www.everythingusb.com/usb-rc-helicopter-17070.html unless of course you have cats ... then ... well ... it...

The Quest for Useful Real-World SSD Benchmarks

Respectively, I disagree. ;)If it were not possible to measure, then how could a designer know what to design for? There is a rate. It can be discovered by those who pick apart what has been designed & is a question of time as every code can be broken if not leaked. What I have read someplaceis...

    PSU calculator

I just came across a reference to this ASUS power supply calculator. It does not ask for enough information to break out power requirements by voltage bus. I haven't compared to the other calculators as yet, but this one is pushing the higher wattage PSUs, 750+ watts, that I wasn't planning...
