    oranges

There are 8 oranges in a box. How can you divide them between 8 people so that each person gets 1 orange, and 1 orange is still left in the box? Peeling or cutting not allowed.

    synthetic heat sink testing

What if? What if I built a synthetic test fixture for techgage? I will not review, so what would be the specs? This would be for someone else to use. I am not offended if it would not apply to techgage's interests. And, even if there is interest, is the resulting spec-ed device possible? Not...

Just when i was about to make the tumble into a Blu-ray writable drive, I see this. It makes no matter whether this will be a winner or not, but suddenly I will wait ... longer... before i dive in completely. I have a bit of a life-style change coming up & was considering "home"...

    BSOD interpretation

Typically, as in always, I just assume that I will never figure out the "why". I did just stumble across BlueScreenView & I am wondering if anyone has had any experience with this? If not, then here it is. I have a Win XP 64 system that I am going to try it on.

Windows 7 load balance ... well maybe ...

This isn't really a complaint, whine, or kudos about Win 7. I guess it is an observation & maybe a bit of a stretch at that. The pic below shows 8 threads of one of my favorite programs running running ... and it 'tis a beautiful thing!;);) Also shown is SpeedFan & Core 0, 2, 4, 6 temps. You...

    Pascal

Once all the scientists die and go to heaven. They decide to play hide-n-seek. Unfortunately Einstein is the one who has the den. He is supposed to count upto 100 and then start searching. Everyone starts hiding except Newton. Newton just draws a square of 1 meter and stands in it, right in...

Windows 7 ... what do you like, or not & why ... or do you care?

Keeping to the subject & that is a challenge even when I picked the subject. But I try to at least have the pretense of being objective. And can I just call it Win7, or W7, or even just 7 for the sake of this thread? 1st ... it is on a DVD. So much for using my legacy (aka old cr@p)...

    OMG Batman!!!!!

The new build, Asus P6X58D + I7920 + Corsair Dominator RAM + Win 7 + uber WC, up & running tho not completed. It is OC-ed to al-l-lmost 4 GHz.:D Much to be done there ... Speedfan reports the max temp for a core of the upper 40s degree C. It is very noisy since the per core load varies so much...

This is a gigabit ethernet switch, that I have had for a few years, was found dead this morning. Apparently its final moments were sometime over night. ... Thermal Interface Material. Indigo Xtreme for Intel Core i7 Processors seems to be THE stuff. Although this guy's review is almost more impressive for a substance that I considered Artic Silver 5 to be as good as any. (Talk not about not having a life!) $20 seems quite expensive...

    power supply failures

A 2nd OCZ 600 W SLI PSU failed a about 1 1/2 months ago. Two identical OCZ PSUs were purchased at the same time 3+ years ago. The 1st OCZ PSU died 6 months ago. The systems they powered pulled 300 to 400 watts. These PSUs have 3 LEDs on the back indicating primary voltages. On mine, they never...
