    On Back order

Looking at the diagram you mean? Should just be red/yellow/green LEDs which indicate current voltage levels... that is what they did with the RoG Rampage Formula. Anandtech reported the "Crazy" red only lights up if you set the CPU voltage to over 2.0v :D

    Mac OS Leopard

Mac OS X is actually pretty decent... although I still wouldn't want it as my main OS. Ars Technica has done some pretty comprehensive articles covering Leopard, I'd suggest trying them. :)

NVIDIA 9800GTX and GX2 Get Greenlight

I'd agree one review isn't enough to base an opinion on... however there are three or four thorough reviews out already that I've looked at. A few more won't change anything now... ;) Some driver updating may improve the results, but there've been enough reviews to indicate pretty well where...

    Advice requested.......

Heat wasn't a problem with both of my WD drives either, had active cooling on them. Did you try a program (Speedfan is great for this) for checking the SMART values yourself?

    Q9300 is available

That's just it... until now I've only worked with the basics, nothing fancy. But when the CPU has multiple CPU dies it apparently complicates quite a few things regarding voltages. Increasing the GTL reference voltage values by raising the overall vCore is just not effective. Of course, since...

NVIDIA 9800GTX and GX2 Get Greenlight

First rather comprehensive wave of 9800GX2 tests is now up at: http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/1331/1/page_1_introduction/index.html It looks even worse... with the exception of a few games the 3870 X2 holds its own. Surprisingly the GX2 is cooler running and eats less power after all...

    Memtest86+ LAST VERSION : 2.01

Never knew there was a in-Windows based utility. Will have to give it a try as well... thanks for the update! :)

    Q9300 is available

Oh yeah, if I didn't know that then I obviously don't know anything at all... :D Best bit of advice I can give is to pay serious attention to those GTL reference voltages, and particularly if the motherboard you plan to use allows you to adjust them. Gigabyte doesn't except on X48, and even...

    RIP CPL....

There certainly doesn't seem to be any shortage of them, that's for sure. I had heard of CPL, but I don't bother following any of them. It would be rather self-defeating to have a coach yelling at them, besides the distraction, trying to listen to him, and his yelling completely drowning out...

Intel X48 Motherboards to Show Up This Week

No, that is not true... that costs almost as much as a Skulltrail motherboard... ;) X48 will range between $200-$300, most of them falling inside the latter half of that range.

    Advice requested.......

I've had bizarre issues with my own WD drives... in my case the drive would simply spin itself down and for all intents and purposes vanish as if the data cable was unplugged... or it would just cease responding and continue spinning. Considering it was also the OS drive, XP didn't take that...

Intel X48 Motherboards to Show Up This Week

Articles I'd read indicated Intel did push back X48's launch because they had to much stock on X38 they wanted to get rid of first. X48 is X38, the only difference is X48 is the cream of the X38 crop so to speak. They are the highest speed binned X38's. Intel designed X38 to be DDR3...

    Q9300 is available

Ack, thanks for the correction on the price... got me on that one. ;) Agreed. Especially those already using Quads... I guess I hadn't said so here but I've made a point on other forums that I'm saving for Nehalem. 45nm Quads are great, OC better than ever, but still don't offer noticeable...

NVIDIA 9800GTX and GX2 Get Greenlight

Okay, sorry guys. Here is an alternative link, lists the exact same graphs from the website I linked to... lots of images: http://www.madshrimps.be/vbulletin/f22/geforce-9800gx2-benchmarks-leaked-42701/ As I recall Geek Squad was a separate entity, but Best Buy actually bought them, then...

    Just ordered the 2408WFP...

I'll send you my 2407 if you send me your 2408... Yes, exactly! 2407 defaults to 50%, but it is bright enough to blind people... it was fine for me, but one day I turned it down because my eyes were hurting for other reasons... oddly I left it at 40% and now I can't even tell I dimmed...

Wow, neither did I! Surprised me almost as much as hearing they were shutting down...

Intel to Launch First Mobile Quad-Core in Q3?

If they can cram a pair of hot 8800's in SLI into a "laptop" these days, I don't see how a much cooler running Intel Quad will make a difference... :D Still seems just as pointless to me though... there just comes a point where a desktop is a better idea regardless of portability!

What is the point of this...

Only application I could think of might be a student computer lab, or some kind of general meeting where everyone can grab a thumb drive with copies of the data or something.
