    Splitting The Atom: NVIDIA Tegra

Yeah, but that has more to do with the exponential growth of technology feeding back into itself. I forgot what the term and who coined it was, will have to look it up again... Continuing about Intel and their Atom chipsets... would ya believe Poulsbo is built on a 130nm process? No where...

Building a new computer would like some advice

Your memory choice is fine, don't worry about it. ;) Your build looks fine, just put the OS on the Velociraptor if you are still planning on getting one.

Intel Core 2 Duo E7200 - The New Budget Superstar?

$70 shipped from Newegg, actually. ;) The E7200 will give better performance though thanks to triple the L2 cache and higher clocks, although not double the price performance.

    Splitting The Atom: NVIDIA Tegra

Agreed completely, None has some very good points there and ya seem to know a great deal about that sort of hardware. Well, it took me awhile to see it, but I am starting to come around to Ars Technica's POV here. They stated Atom and Isaiah (Via Nano) are not really direct competitors and...

    Wireless G Cameras

Make the whole house an antenna??? I have heard of (and I use) powerline ethernet networking, where you plug cat5 into the wall outlets... great way to get around reception and Wifi range issues. That may or may not help you, but unfortunately I've never heard of using the house wiring as an...

Best of luck with your RMA... I didn't realize it was happening with that many games.

Buying a new PC this week, I hope!

Not sure what you mean by the FSB needing to match the RAM, that's what dividers are for. For the PSU I would suggest either http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817703005 or http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817139005 Merlin has a point though...

    NVIDIA's GTX 200-series Specs Revealed

I guess we'll find out in 16 days then. ;)

    NVIDIA's GTX 200-series Specs Revealed

Some places say it is, some places say it is not. Considering the specs... I suspect it is faster in the vast majority of scenarios. They share the same core clock speed, and the 280 is effectively two 9800GX2's rolled into a single core. Only 16 less shaders. ;)

Will Microsoft Become 'Directionless' After Bill Gates Steps Outside?

MS is already all about profits. I've been forced to use Vista for the past two weeks again since a windows update nuked the MS .NET codebase using programs in my XP install... A clean install of Vista SP1 and my experience has been worse than ever with the OS. It's definitely less stable as...

Bigger is Not Better, Says AMD

Well, G80 launched the same way without any real mid-range parts. How is this different? They've become just like Intel, top end part(s) first, then launching the rest of their product offering the next quarter. I didn't realize it but the 8800GTX launched with 9 processing blocks, only 8 of...

Bigger is Not Better, Says AMD

NVIDIA is going to be in a crunch with GT200 because of this. TSMC just posted they will have to raise fabbing prices to their customers to offset their own costs... namely NVIDIA. Ontop of that GT200 is the biggest die size ever... 65nm GT200 verses 90nm G80, and it still has roughly...

Funpidgin Released, Fixes Crippled Pidgin Feature

I highly recommend Digsby. I still have some testing to do with it, but I won't ever go back to Trillian or Miranda now, let alone Pidgin. I can install the software on any computer, type in my username+password, and automatically have my IM program up and running exactly as configured just...

Intel's P45 Shows Promise, As Does ASUS' P5Q Deluxe

ASUS is only doing it because Gigabyte was gaining market traction with that. On the other hand while it is definitely silly, I sort of like this race. In a single chipset generation we went from ASUS & Gigabyte using only single phase power designs to them using triple phase designs to...

    NVIDIA's GTX 200-series Specs Revealed

I don't consider afterthought DX10 patches to count as DX10 games, is my problem. CoH Opposing Fronts has some interesting effects with the weather engine, but still the game looks almost the same played on XP. Why should a game developer make a great game that shows off DX10? Only a...

    NVIDIA's GTX 200-series Specs Revealed

What kind of question is that? Just a matter of time before game developers release games tailored for DX10... although would of happened much faster if XP also supported DX10, because as it is DX10 support is only a very minor segment of the already shrinking PC gaming market. --------...

    LG Blue Ray Burner

Actually, if you want Blu Ray this Pioneer Blu Ray drive is only $170 @ Newegg. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16827129015 It burns everything else except BD. Slowly getting there... now if it also was a BD burner and a little cheaper I'd be interested.
