That is exactly what I am thinking... the chips will overclock great, but the QPI bus won't be able to overclock so well. If so then having the ability to change the CPU multi should really differentiate their Extreme chip... will have to wait and see I guess. :)

Two discrete 4870's just seem the way to go... was really hoping for more here, considering the 2GB memory size. Another site did find that 1GB of mem per core was needed for 2560x1600 GRID tests though, in that test this card showed it's power. But that was just one game.

Are you using the failsale BIOS defaults? Does this problem occur with only a single drive and no RAID? I assume the system is already at stock... what did you test the memory with, and for how long? Temperatures on everything reading okay?

Krazy, that is not a software issue. It's a hardware issue and something somewhere is not stable or is corrupting the install. As much grief as I have endured with Vista, none of those are problems I've run into. Everything I know about computers tells me it's a hardware or BIOS setting issue.

Intel's integrated GPUs can't even win against NVIDIA's or AMD's... I'd seriously wonder if they can even beat S3's IGP Chrome yet. G31/G33/G35/G45 are just a joke and with the possible exception of Chrome, don't beat squat.
