How much is too much for a video card?

No better money than free money money, that's even better than free computer parts.

Taking my TJ07 to the watcooling extreme

They are supposed to be pretty nice res's from what I hear. Anymore these days I just use a simple "T" line for my 1/2" loop and a Micer res on the little 3/8" GPU loop. Does the job I need it to do and it's cheap...........;)

How much is too much for a video card?

Now if I was to come into some extra cash that I didn't have a need for (EI; win the lotto) then I would buy the best of everything out there just because I could..........;)

    Your thoughts on Quad Core?

Most won't ever "NEED" a quad, even when more apps start taking advantage of them. Gamers on the other hand "MAY" in the future when future games come of age, that's why I'm still waiting, maybe the next gen..................;) But I'll still be looking at what supports them and what doesn't.

How much hard drive space do you have?

Currently using a 250 gig WD as main drive, I have a WD 80gig in a Icy Dock removeable rack for backups and a Maxtor 80 gig external to haul around with me. Not a lot as some, but I don't DL music or video at all.

How much is too much for a video card?

Got a 7800GS (AGP version) for the wifes rig not to long ago, it ran a little over $100 after MIR, she's happy with its performance playing Oblivon..........;)

How much is too much for a video card?

For me anything under the $300 range is pretty much ok I guess. At todays prices, that would put a 8800GTS 320 in my box, but I'm actually still happy with my 7900GT.............;)

    Monster Rig.

The highest QD is like you stated, it's on a "T" line for the MCP655 loop. The other is just to make it easire for draining and flushing. At the time I last put the system together I was doing a lot of reviewing and the QD made things much much easier swaping out blocks and such. They do add a...

    Monster Rig.

I'm still around, just haven't been taking part in things................;) I guess I should post a update to the rig as things have changed a little. As a matter of fact, let me do it while I'm here just in case I forget again. And for the internals.

    Your thoughts on Quad Core?

I may opt for a Quad next year when the new Intel cores are released and if the prices are close to what's being predicted right now, but only time will tell. Right now I'm plenty happy with my C2D.........;) http://www.tcmagazine.com/comments.php?id=16193&catid=2

    Water cooling for nubs?

XS does have about the most complete info and how-to's on water cooling, but there are some fairly knowledgeable folks around here as well, that is if you can get them to sound off a little. http://www.xtremesystems.org/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=70 I'm over there from time to time as well...

    Monster Rig.

I thought that it was a pretty interesting product when I saw it on Swiftechs site, so I thought I'd give it a try. ......;) It helps out with the ram OC a little, maybe 20-30 MHz, so it's not really worth it in that asspect, unless you maybe are volt modding your card. But before I installed...

    Selecting a Power Supply

I'd also go for the Tt Toughpower. they're a solid PSU made by Channel Well and have a pretty solid rep. I'm using a Xclio, which is basicly the same PSU (Channel Well), and couldn't be more pleased with it.

    27 days uptime

Any of the larger towns or cities are fairly good, I'm just stuck so far out in the woods I keep a generator on hand for the bad days and have to use satellite internet to get any sort of broadband. I will say that the cost of living here in MO is much cheaper than just about anywhere else I've...
