Just how clean in a 'Clean Room'?

No but I'll gladly do the R&D if they pay for it...

    Benchmarking High Scores

Not really, I noticed a trend on the P4's that the scores with no HT tended to be higher CPU wise and the scores with HT were lower. Now the 6XX series are the exception to this, they have the massive L2 cache though so that might have something to do with it.

    Benchmarking High Scores

Disabled HT and gained 150+ in the CPU score but for some reason I had to roll the core back to 385Mhz from 390... In short the score is 2175 now. http://service.futuremark.com/compare?3dm06=79480

    Time for a new one!

Run 2 instances (each instance in it's own folder) of F@H to stress the CPU better since it is a dually. Go into task manager and set the affinity of each instance to one core or the other.

    Nero 7 Ultra Edition

You'd think things like this would get caught in beta testing...I tend to consider the first release a "Paid Public Beta" sometimes. Games are sometimes really bad about that since they can't realistically test every game with every possible hardware config.

    Time for a new one!

Great, yes the voltages are likely dropping far enough that with the fanmate it's giving you less than the 5 or 7V needed to run the fan. Glad to hear that the ram's doing good for you.

    Slow Read Times?

I forget the techincal reasons behind it but it happens when there's a reading error. The device manager will shift a drive that has a specific read error to PIO mode and it can be a royal pain in the neck to switch it back, it usually requires the fix you implemented which is a wipe/reload.

Yes, it was in PIO mode not UDMA mode.

How hot is too hot for an Intel?

Northies get to 60-70C?? In what? Laptops with dustbunnies in the 'sinks? The Northwoods use less wattage than the Prescotts and had (yes had, Northwoods are a thing of the past) a TDP of 70C whereas the Prescott which is what all the current generation cores are based off have a TDP of 80C...

Just how clean in a 'Clean Room'?

If you put a filtered box in a hard vacuum then it's going to be clean inside that box, now, isn't it? Or did you assume that they were just going to set up a big "floor" floating free without the benefit of walls or shielding or anything like that? The fact remains that electronics companies...

Just how clean in a 'Clean Room'?

I think you're missing the point, in space it's the hardest vacuum you can pull so for ICs you'll be assured of minimal impurities...
