    SLI verses single

I would even say a single 7900GS would be perfect for 1366X768.

    How would you push 8GB?

Ahh yes. I sure miss a good hijacking. TAKE THIS THREAD TO CUBA!!!!!!! LMFAO!!!!!!! Now that is not only funny, but painfully true......

    CARD READER

Yeah, I just don't understand why they never seem to work when the external units with the same chipsets do.

Pls. Recommend a MOBO for me..

DFI's website is disappointing to say the least. The level of help and useful tips is almost nonexistent. I would not hold my breath that this will improve any time soon.

    How would you push 8GB?

Only a server or CAD/CAM engineer need that much ram.

    CARD READER

I agree, I loved mine when I had the 2407. I find that most of the external units that plug into an external port tend to work while 99% of the ones I bought for internal use were crap.

    E6600 @ 4GHz on Water, Windows Bootable

I cannot agree with you. Very few modders pay attention to the differences in bios and in windows. They pay attention to the difference between idle and load in windows. The Vdroop mods are specifically aimed at that, not at fixing the difference between bios and windows. Vdroop mods DO NOT...

    E6600 @ 4GHz on Water, Windows Bootable

Correct, but the Vdroop that people modify their boards for and care the most about is from idle to load. Idling, your CPU could droop quite far and not cause instability, but under load it makes a HUGE difference. We're both right, LOL!

    E6600 @ 4GHz on Water, Windows Bootable

To be 100% technical, Vdroop is the voltage drop from your CPU @ idle to full load. ASUS boards are the biggest offenders. My current board is the exact opposite. It slightly overvolts from what you set in bios, and it droops to exactly what you set in bios under full load. Thank you DFI for...

    CARD READER

I have problems with 32MB cards as well as 1GB cards. Right now, I just have one of those small jobs that you can put a SD card in and plug it into a USB port. Works better than any other reader I ever tormented myself with.

    E6600 @ 4GHz on Water, Windows Bootable

My board also overvolts a tad. Those are some sick clocks you can bench with. Definitely one of the better CPU's out there, nice job!

    E6600 @ 4GHz on Water, Windows Bootable

That is ALOT of voltage without phase type cooling. What are your 24/7 clocks/voltages? As for PI, it's all about the L2 cache........

    CARD READER

Card readers and Windows XP have a hard time getting along. Try reinstalling the reader. I have gone through 4 different internal units without success. I bought a cheap one that plugs into the USB port when needed and it works.

    8950 Gtx Coming in June

The only card on that list that even looked remotely good was the 8900GS for $200, but I would bet the farm they will not sell at those prices or specs. With the 8600 fiasco Nvidia pulled, I would believe nothing I read, especially from the enquirer, on upcoming Nvidia stuff.

    Your thoughts on Quad Core?

Quadcores are really only suited for professionals that need the extra computational power for video editing and server needs. Games don't need them. There are not even any games that can put 100% load on both cores on a dual core out. I think things are just progressing much too fast, and...

    OCZ 2GB PC2-7200 SLI-Ready Edition

Some SLI motherboards will take the EPP profiles of thes "SLI ready" ram sticks and do some of the hard work for you. If I didn't already have great ram, I'd certainly consider these.

    DFI LanParty UT NF590 SLI-M2R/G

I have this board coming my way tomorrow with a 4800+ Brisbane. I sure miss my old Ultra-D and my Opty 165. Nothing like some good ole AMD goodness to spread the love. Great review Rob!

    Need advice on speaker set

Got them today. One word. INCREDIBLE!!!! They have lower and cleaner bass and the mids are seperate from the highs. They even came with a very high end Optical cable that is not listed in the description. THe Z-680's can go louder on absolute high, but these are very loud and clear as a...

    Your thoughts on Quad Core?

I am hoping like hell the E6700 drops to the E6600 price and I am all over one like stink on you know what. $600+ is still out of my league, but $400 for a E6700 sounds delicious, especially since I am in the market for a new CPU with a high multi.
