Windows XP to Die Off at 'Some Point'

Whenever it happens, I can't see myself not using the OS for many years to come in some capacity around home. Whenever it does die, it's sure as hell been a great run. I can remember using it for the first time wondering how it could be so good when ME was so bad. It was refeshing not having...

    74GB WD 10,000 RPM Raptor

It's actually an 80GB version of the Raptor line. I RMA'd my first drive and received this one in return. Thinking something was wrong, I called WD. They explained that it was in fact a 10K drive and was actually the new OEM version of their 74GB model. It's the performance of the Raptor...

anyone figured out the secrete to the Q6600 and the asus p5n e sli overclock?

Please do not listen to THUMPer. While voltage can help, it's best to increase it, if needed, little by little. For starters, what settings are you working with? What works at 2.7 GHz and what doesn't work for you?

TRENDnet TEW-637AP Wireless N Access Point

Of course you can. While it won't "upgrade" the network to n because your router will be n already, you can use it as an access point to extend your wireless coverage in your house wherever you see fit.

    i'm very confused

Welcome to the forums brother. The main difference between those two CPUs is speed. Thee Q9450 is a 2.66 GHz CPU and the E5420 is a 2.5 GHz chip. The X3350 however is identical to the Q9450 so if your looking for a replacement for that chip, you might have better luck finding the XEON in...

Windows Vista SP1 Ships Next Week

After the initial slowdown, it will feel a bit slower as the update cleared out the drive indexing and needs to be rebuilt. This will take a bit of time but as you use your PC, it's "memory of locations" will get back to normal. Directly from the horses mouth...

    EVGA 790i

How ridiculous is that?!? I am wanting to go SLI here in the near future but I am not paying 400 for a mobo. The Asus P5N-T looks like a nice 780i board and will let me still use the DDR2 memory that I currently have. 790i is apparently really nice but not $400 nice.

Picking out a 30-inch monitor is truly a chore!

So yeah. Umm about that. That monitor has a worse contrast ratio, a horrible response time, and costs more because it's got that good ol' Apple mark up and the best that you can say is that they should be working on an update to this monitor. Well said.

Windows Vista SP1 Ships Next Week

I am sure people are having problems with Vista, it's inevitable. I bricked a couple of machines installing SP2 on XP when it came out so I can't say that people having problems with Vista surprises me. I think its to the point now where many just want to bitch about Vista because it's still...

    D-Link Xtreme N DIR-655 Wireless Router

Last comment on this... I have not had any problems personally with this router's stability. Which setting were giving you stability issues? Speaking of hardware, the TrendNET TEW-633GR uses damn near the same hardware as the 655. It's also a great router and can be found for a considerably...

    D-Link Xtreme N DIR-655 Wireless Router

Thank you! This is the kind of feedback that we are always looking for. For all the shortcomings of the review, it's been a successful one and has helped determine best practices for future reviews. I frequent Small Net Builders daily and I love their in depth reviews. I have thought of...
