I've always had good success with Western Digital... They're fast, quiety and pretty durable. With over 100 drives installed in various places, I've only seen 1 failure.

Can we please not start messages with insults...;) Yes there are drawbacks to vinyl... but there are (were?) also methods of protecting it that worked very well. I've had albums that I played dozens of times with no noticeable degredation in sound... but then I wasn't exactly using a $9.95...

In your BIOS settings set your S-ATA to "Compatibility Mode" (or similarly named) then set in the settings for that individual drive set your PIO and DMA modes manually. A good BIOS will suggest the maximums to you. (Usually PIO4 and DMA6 for S-ATA devices). XP (esp before SP3) isn't...

If the pictures I found are accurate, there is a fan mount in the bottom of the case just behind the HD mounts... that fan should be mounted to draw air into the case. There is another mount on the upper back, which should be blowing out. This should provide adequate circulation... If negative...

Check out Cerwin Vega and Klipsch... their commercial and home audio stuff is top line, pro audio quality all the way. (But their PC stuff is, well, like other PC stuff...) Ideally 0 vibration anywhere but the speaker cones themselves. Of course that's impossible to achieve in anything...
