Zalman RESERATOR 1 V2 parts needed

Um, no. The Reserator V2 has an aluminum body and the CPU block is copper plated with gold. Using just distilled water is a sure fire way to corrode the reserator. You'll have to use a 50/50 mix of water and a good quality ethylene glycol antifreeze. As to tubing, just get some 8mm I.D tubing...

    TV sets falling on kids...

That's what happens when you take the TV out of the console. Those old, huge, console TV's were space and energy hogs and ugly as sin but there's no way they'd ever fall on anyone unless you were doing something epically stupid.

    The Rig That Rob Built

That sucks. The M2N has a gap between 3/4 ports and 5/6 ports specifically to give room for four 90's to be used. The ports for 1 & 2 don't get in the way and can use standard cables.

    The Rig That Rob Built

Get some SATA cables with 90 degree ends. They work great for that, the M2N32-SLI Deluxe has that issue and actually came with 90's on four of the cables.

    Why We Need Audiophiles

Well, all the analog guys can keep their lack of dynamic range and RIAA equalization, me I'll stick to digital. Vinyl is too compressed for my tastes.

    Why We Need Audiophiles

I remember when CD's first hit the scene back in the 80's. There were a few double blind tests that took the same recordings in analog and digital and played them over the same equipment and less than 1% of the participants were able to discern any differences or identify the source. At that...

    Why We Need Audiophiles

Dude, I've read self professed "audiophiles" say that they prefer using 128K (or lower!) over higher rates as they sound more analog. WTF? Reel to reel are like those old computer tape systems for storage back in the '60's and '70's. Huge spools of magnetic tape.

Is there interest in noise-cancelling headphones?

There's the Bose Quiet Comfort 2 and 3. Aside from those I don't know of any off the top of my head.

Is there interest in noise-cancelling headphones?

Really? I like the way my JVC earbuds sound. They have huge bass for such a tiny set, much better than my aging KOSS UR40's. Plus they block about 30db in background noise.

    Why We Need Audiophiles

Well, you don't see people that hold cassettes dear but they do love reel to reel. IMHO, 1/2" reel to reel is THE analog medium of choice for a true audiophile. A large reel run at the highest speed will give you the truest playback free of hiss, pops, snaps and have far more dynamic headroom...

    Why We Need Audiophiles

That guy's an idiot. "My 256kb/s recording sounds terrible" Of course it is, it's inherently lossy especially in AAC format. A well encoded MP3 at 256K will sound worlds better than the same rate AAC. Want lossless sound? VBR WMA is a great lossless format that doesn't take up a super huge...

Is there interest in noise-cancelling headphones?

You should not only test the noise canceling qualities but the sonic quality. I'd even judge a better sounding set with lesser noise abatement to be better than a set with superior noise cancellation. What's the use of a noise canceling headphone that sounds so-so? You might also take a pair of...

    iolo System Mechanic Pro 6

Most likely was. '05 was much better than '06 and from what I've heard '07 was even worse. They had an awesome product in '05 and in an effort to make it more automated and comprehensive they made it worse. All the improvements were just more gilding that just eventually ended up detracting from...

    ASUS Xonar Essence STX

Actually, you'll be getting less amperage AND voltage. Wattage is volts times amps divided by resistance. Therefore as the load is increased in resistance the amperage and voltage will decrease. If you read the working voltage in parallel to the load it will appear to be the same (if not a wee...
