That's funny...first thing the old man mentioned to me when I first brought up the (radical) concept of (heaven forbid) ordering something online was "who are you going to take it to when it breaks down."

OT...dad wants a new HDTV for the (stupid) DTV 2009 thingy...would we rather go to BB or order one online (and if not Newegg, where?). Our only tech place that doesn't require going down a half hour to milwaukee is our local BB...

Not to forget most systems at the time (IIRC) couldn't run XP until the price of RAM went down a few years later - and the systems could handle more services that XP has.

Ha...I remember when our elementary school first installed these...I think they built a computer lab for the first time (or the year before). Man they were nice - compared to the older ones at least from the early 90s. Heck it was better than our computer (think it only had a 1GB HD)...

Cool, but I saw a friend's computer with KDE 3.5 loaded with some sweet 3d effects - along with wobbly windows, a cursor that acted like it was in water...etc

Do you have the latest OS patches/Windows Update?

They've been good to us the past 2 years. Everything arrives under 5 days, RMAs are painless, and cheaper than the brick-and-mortar stores. Although, during winter I wouldn't mind living in Texas :D
