If you are experiencing long load times with BF3, turn off Vsync. I went from over 1min to load time to less then 10sec, this is at the point when the game was showing me loading screen in game.

Hopefully the PC ver will be out sooner then 8 months after the consoles!

I tried using a VM for my first time, it's good if your getting the basics down for gentoo, but like Rob said not everything installs right for the kernel. If you use premade like gnome or something that it should be fine. Hope that helps man.

Appreciate all the positive responses guys, thanks! Also happy to report that nothing else went out in the fire. It was all contained to the PSU, which I consider very lucky cause it could have easily screwed everything else. I am counting my blessing with this event, that's for damn sure.
