I don't think that's too bad as far as onboard goes, but if you really like your music or games, it'll be worth getting a new sound card, either internal or external. First though, decide if you're happy or not with the sound. I'm sure that my setup would sound better with an Audigy 2zs or...

Yeah, that's the ram i'm running, but i'm having the damndest time getting this NF2 board to like the higher fsb. Have you run yours at 222mhz ever? What kindof latency should i be looking at there? I got it to run at 9x222, but it was slower than 10x200 with tighter timings.

I don't believe that you have to, but with a good headset, it'll always help, you'll notice a large difference, unless you happen to have SoundStorm on your motherboard as onboard. I just use the onboard now that i have SoundStorm.

Ok, cool, so it looks like i'm just about on track.... Looking at the tictac modded bios, think that'll help me get my fsb up? We had a guy on one of my other forums hit 10x250 benchable on his socket A, i'd like to duplicate that feat.

Hate to dig up a dead thread, but here's a question: I have Ballistix pc4000 running on my NF7-S at 10x200. I can boot into windows at 9x222 no problems, but at 2.5-4-4-9, only. I was expecting a bit higher fsb window than that... Is there any known problems with NF2 boards and not liking...

Well... that's where the cheating is... The 2600-M is capable of 10k+ cpu score, so to call it a socket A is kindof not fair sometimes, depending on stepping. The Asus v9999 is technically a 6800nu because it has the nu gpu, but it's on the Ultra PCB, and requires the dual molex connectors...
