    HAF mod Start

Yeah, I ran into the tubing issue myself. Ten feet should be enough, but if you plan to fiddle with the loops or install anything in the future, get a bit more. The stuff is cheap enough and stores just fine, and you really don't want to discover you don't have enough when your computer is...

Windows 7 vs XP vs Vista

I wasn't clear, sorry. I mean that if you install XP on a new motherboard, the ethernet port, onboard sound, and anything else probably won't function. It can't even run a graphics card beyond 1280x resolution without issues.. Since the ethernet port does not work you would have to use a thumb...

    PCI-E 1.1 vs PCI-E 1.0 ?

That motherboard is PCIe 1.1. Don't even worry about the difference between 1.0 and 1.1, the current version is 2.0. There is still not any tangible benefits to 2.0 unless you run Quad GPU setups.

    Zunes Attempt to Shun 2009

Okay. Yeah I think that qualifies as really bad code. Hopefully they will fix that before the next leap year comes along...

    Nikon D50 6.2MP Digital-SLR Camera

Hm, that's an old review. (BTW, link back to it doesn't work, the # of MP's is off by 1) As far as black photography goes, the results are going to depend on if it is indoor or outdoor lighting almost every time. Or at least that's what I've read and has proven true with my rather poor...

    PSU advise

I prefer a single 12V rail, but very good quality PSU's with multiple rails should be just fine anyway. You are right on the money, I think 600-750w models would be all that you need and still offer plenty of headroom if you ever go dual GPU. Both of these are $80 after rebate, that'd about...

    Personal Favorite Games of 2008

Well I'm by far not the only one. L4D Valve forums are covered with threads, if you post an issue they'll ask what Forceware you use right off. Three or four buddies in my friends list also suffered from this problem. Usually the game locks up and crashes with looping/stuck sounds under XP, but...

    Techgage @ CES 2009

From what I've been seeing Intel will be offering a speed bump on their Nehalem parts either this quarter or more likely the next quarter... They published one roadmap showing a Bloomfield part " >3.2Ghz " around Q2 of last year due to arrive Q2 this year. Honestly I'm not excited yet about...

    Core i7 920 - $230 at Frys

Fry's always does weekly sales on CPUs, every now and then they are lossleader sales like this one... Last summer I grabbed a Q9450 from them for something around $120 below Newegg's price and they even threw in a cheap ECS 7150 IGP board, which at least offset the sales tax. It's why I love...

    Intel Core i7 Performance Preview

What can I say? It's fun to pretend to be a know it all. :D

We have been right all along.

Well, technically some mice can almost offer as many controls as any controller. Fully directional movement, 2-main buttons, 2-secondary buttons, clickable scrollwheel... that's six "buttons" not counting movement. And that's not even a gaming mouse. :D

    Your HDD has feelings too!

Taking the video at face value I don't think his yelling slowed things down that much, he was just showing it registered and the drives had to compensate? I can make a few guesses, but I'm honestly not sure enough to take the video at face value. 15,000RPM is extremely fast for platters...

Windows 7 vs XP vs Vista

I can't wait to ditch Vista by the wayside... and XP as well. XP is showing its age, it doesn't support new interface standards such as AHCI for SATA drives, is hard drive agnostic, and generally requires drivers on a thumb drive just to get base functionality working after any install...

    Personal Favorite Games of 2008

I should also mention L4D still crashes due to NVIDIA drivers.... Forceware 180 drivers are WHQL but are incompatible with L4D... both XP and Vista64 versions will cause the game to lockup or crash to desktop randomly. 178 drivers don't have any problems.

    HAF mod Start

Distilled is preferred although any kind of bottled or spring water would be fine. Just not what comes out of your tap unless you already run a filter on it. I use a couple drops of algaecide for ponds, stuff is superconcentrated and just four bucks at the local hardware store. Six drops...

    Zunes Attempt to Shun 2009

It's believed to be caused by the 366 day leap year... since today is the 366th day. The issue is supposed to fix itself tomorrow when it'll be day "1" of 2009... ;) I find it all very amusing to be honest... it just goes to show things like rounding that 0.6 will eventually come back to...

Nintendo Stomps the Competition with November Sales

Well, I would guess that sandbox mode is kind of easy for non-linear games that offer many routes or areas to explore. L4D is interesting, but I don't think it is in sandbox mode... Levels only load one at a time, and zombies/tanks/witches do not spawn beyond a certain radius. As they are...

    Tale of two topics.

No idea about Rogers, but Time Warner does have a website address ****/preferences that you can take your browser to and turn off address redirection, URL searching, URL completion, etc. Never knew about it until I came across it mentioned on on forum...
