    LED desk lamps

They are little pricey. I experimented with raising that light to a 10" shelf over the desk @ 9:30 PM, and yes, I think so. The light is spread out fairly uniformly +/- couple feet or so to the best of my visual detection. A light meter would be best but that hobby disappeared some years ago...

    LED desk lamps

Yes. Having used the LED lamps for few months now i think they are a good replacement for the halogens which long ago replaced the incandescents. They are comfortable to read paper or screen.

Ikonik Ra2000 Liquid Full-Tower Chassis Review

Good review ... marfig's questions/thoughts caused to reread a couple of times. I see this case as the ultimate WC kit; good for a serious 1st WC experience. Meaning it has all of the necessary parts w/o the effort to have to figure out this versus that component. That can be both tedious and...

    Apple patents "slide to unlock"

The thing about patents ... 1) they are expensive to get 2) they are even more expensive to contest 3) prior art can defer infringement lawsuits for years. This expands to ... the patent holder & the one claiming infringement has the burden of proof on them. The defendant can just...

OCZ Launches Indilinx "Everest"-Powered Octane SSDs

$1.15/GB!?! Nice. I am anxious to see the price erosion on the current almost as fast SSDs. HDDs are starting to pile up almost like floppies did in the day.

    Tesla M2090

A couple of useful comments about the MSI Afterburner plots; GPU1 is the C2070 & GPU2 is the NVS 300 used for display. So the noise on the GPU2 usage % is due to screen activity ... program updates & mouse moving around. The top graph is GPU1 Temperature & is in the low 70s C. So, yes...

    Tesla M2090

@Optix ... that was your opening & someone was expected to take! :) If the attachment does not fit well on ppl's monitors let me know & I'll split future ones. So this shows the number cruncher in the background behind GPU-Z, half of the MSI Afterburner display in top right, CPU-Z in lower...

    Tesla M2090

@TheCrimsonStar ... not such a nuby sort of question. There is a lot of discussion about this on many web sites. The short answer is that these cards have superior double precision math capability versus the GTX 580, for instance. I run software that uses a great deal of double precision math &...

Rob, assuming that you are talking to me, apparently you did not see my town on some mapping site, but I am less than an hour from Grand Central Terminal in NYC. Yale in New Haven, CT is 1/2 hour the other way. Never the less, I am a newby to this locale & dread the few times I have to get...

    Tesla M2090

I have a Tesla C2070 for double precision number crunching. Paid a ~$2200 for it from a legit company and it is at least 5X faster than the i7-990X OC-ed at 4.5GHz. Nice. I am happy. :) But in my what used to be rare to never ventures on eBay I am starting to see these new Tesla M2090s...
