Charitable build for a Christmas Angel wish

I have picked up an angel off of an "Adopt an angel" tree. I think it was placed in front of me for a reason. The child is wanting a computer. Having done charitable builds before, it is a wonderful feeling to give one away! I have a lot of the parts in my personal stash, but I have gaps. I am...

I remember being at a friend's house while he co-op'd DOOM with a direct dial modem dial between him and a friend a few blocks over. I sat there with my jaw on the floor.... loved it. His froiend was not very good at directions though, as my friend told him to "Wait here... I'll open this door...

    I've been burned.

1st, do NOT mess with the drives. Go to http://www.gillware.com They can do it. Use my name (Craig Tate from Dallas, Texas) as a referral, and I believe they will quote you the corporate rate. Do you remember the order of the drives? Which drive was 0,1,2,etc? You might not need that but...

Sometimes, in order to get the lead out, you just need to push yourself through the roadblock. Me, the fan cable management is going to be tricky... so I have been dragging my feet on committing to that section of the build. Well, I feel like it is going to look sweet, so I needed to suck it up...

    The Sleeper

Depends on how you want to make your PSU modular. You can try using several different types of sonnectors, from screw terminals (like on CB radio connections.... or you can use different types of plastic milex connectors. For most any of those, you will have to research in a catalog like Mouser...

    i7 980X build, or ...

To get a good, smooth painted finish, 90% of the work goes before the paint. You have a good base, you will have a good spray. Powedercoating is good if you can get it reasonably. Try calling around to PC'ing shops and see what hte common colors are that they run. See if they have a schedule...

What color are you going for? or what look are you going for? That will decide the recommendation for painting, in my stream of thinking. ;) Also, there are some really good tutorials on the web for painting computer cases and getting spectacular results. If you are interested, I'll post...

Just not right.... I get the entire 24 pin assembly disassembled, pictures taken through the whole thing so I can be sure and put the wires back into the same places again.... start sleeving and I ran out of a critical diameter of heat shrink! Thought I had more in the garage, but it was too...

    The Sleeper

Hey all, just a quick note to let you know I am still working on Sleeper! I am slowly working my way through the PSU. I have completed all of the main hardwired lines *except* for the 24 pin motherboard connector, I am progressively working through that now. After that, the modular plugs...
