Another trick for systems before Vista...
Go to your task bar, right click, slide over to toolbars, newtoolbar...
Click and in the folder picker select one of your disk drives.
Your task bar now has a pop up menu that will show you every folder and file on the entire drive, just like it does programs in the Start menu.
