Why Search for Piracy when Google Reader Hand-Delivers It?

Thanks to its ease-of-use and ability to store my RSS feeds in the "cloud", I've been a long-time user of Google's Reader aggregator, and have had little to complain about. But this past weekend, I encountered something a little unusual with the service - something that could be considered humorous for some, but a major problem for others.

Anyways, doesn't the usual "we are not responsible for what users make of the service" blurb apply here? Google's very foundation. Of course, pirates say thanks since the mere inclusion of "download" on a search string these days, has the search engine top results linking to copyright infringement.

Frankly... no wonder we then have to face ever increasing regulations that... how they call it?... are an attack on our civil liberties, like freedom of speech and other such nonsense.
