Tornado went right by my house

BUT we're all fine. Thankfully. It happened last night, that really strong front that was pushing through was literally spawning storm cells out of NOWHERE and producing tornadoes throughout Tennessee. I watched the doppler radar at school yesterday and over in eastern TN there were no storms and tornado-producing cells were just popping up out of nowhere...it was kinda freaky.

Anyway, there was a tornado that spawned and touched down in blount county (about 45 mins - 1hr from my house). this storm was moving so fast, the tornado it spawned crossed over 3 counties before it died out. I knew the storm was coming (I was at school at the time) and I got a call from my mom saying there was a tornado heading right for my house and she and my brother were going to take cover in the basement. My dad was one county over at work, and they were on lockdown because there was also a tornado in THAT county...they were like everywhere. I called a few friends from my church and asked them to be praying for my mom and brother and explained the situation. Not even 20 minutes after the initial call from my mom about the tornado, I get another call from her saying it passed over and was heading to corryton, which is 15 minutes from my house. She then told me she watched the radar after the tornado was past..and it died out right as it was going through my area. But get this..it fizzled out, passed over, then RE-FORMED AFTER IT PASSED OVER. Now that's freaky. Oh yeah, one more thing. This storm was cruising at over 60mph. Someone over at University of Tennessee Hospital took a picture of it. The clouds were moving so fast the tornado came down sideways.

found some pics of it, sorry they're so small. must have been taken with a cell phone.

I'm glad to hear that you are fine. Storms like that one can be scary.

There were some serious storms yesterday. Here in Indianapolis, there were sightings all around the surrounding counties. A line of red ran from Chicago to Evansville. Depending on the time, this may have been the same storm system.

I may complain about my little chunk of Canada but the worst thing that happens to us is being down wind from the pulpmill.

Hey, don't forget the fog! We sure do get enough of it (like today).

Glad you and your friends/family are safe Crimson... that looks like one freaky thing to happen. Probably gave you a good adrenaline rush though :D
