The non watercooling.

For those of you anware to teh rest of the worlds needs, concerns and knowledge base, this is a post basically steering the conversation away from water based cooling towers. (hey its a new idea, and a good one, btu surely its nto the only thing comign out on the market)

So what are your ideas on efficient non water cooled towers? Suggestions for teh n00bs? Recomindations?

a top exhast fan helps a lot. But some problems with that is that if you get a large power supply then then top fan wont work. I have a X-Dreamer and i got a 500w x-connect. I cannot put the top fan in so i stuck in a 60mm instead that works ok. Usually the more fans the better.

Well, the first thing I would do is download Motherbord Monitor http://www.blisstonia.com/software/WinMD5/ . This will tell you how hot your case is and also how hot your CPU is running. Depending on what you get for readouts, that determins what you need to do. If your case alows you might want to ad some case fans in the front/back, memory coolers, harddrive coolers, or PCI slot coolers. If you only need a couple degrease, I sugest going something smaller like memory cooler since everything in your pc generates heat.

I personally have four Antec 80mm case fans, and two 80mm fans mounted over my Video card and PCI slots. I have a 500w Antec PS and a stock AMD Heatsink/fan. My airflow goes from front to back with extra suction coming from the fans on my PS. Liquid cooling isn't quite in my budget yet, but who knows when I get my quarterly bonus check...

Dont use mbm it is not supported anymore so some motherboards are not supported use speedfan http://www.almico.com/speedfan.php
