Valve for some reason didn't post this on the Steam website, so here's the e-mail in full:
April 29, 2011 - Valve, creators of best-selling game franchises (such as Half-Life, Left 4 Dead, Team Fortress, and Counter-Strike) and leading technologies (such as Steam and Source), today announced the first game add-on for the year's highest rated multiplatform game, Portal 2, is in development and targeted for this summer.

Portal 2 DLC #1 will offer new test chambers for players, leaderboards, challenge mode for single and multiplayer modes, and more.

Targeted for release this summer, Portal 2 DLC #1 will be offered free of charge for the PC, Mac, Xbox 360, and PS3.

Portal 2 was released April 19 and currently holds a Metacritic score of 95%, making it the top rated multiplatform game of 2011. Portal also captured the number 1 chart position in the UK, Germany, and the Nordic countries during its first week of availability, making it the fastest-selling Valve release since Half-Life 2.

A hilariously mind-bending adventure that challenges you to use wits over weaponry in a funhouse of diabolical science, Portal 2 features expansive single and cooperative multiplayer game modes.

If it wasn't I'd call money grab.

LOL, first thought that went through my mind as well. What will the naysayers chime in with this time? Portal 2 only gets 5/10 stars because the first one was way better, i.e. free. :D

Is it just me or is Portal 2 wicked easy?

Yeah, it was easier than the last one. Less trick jumping and that sort of thing, and the co-op seemed easier still than single player. Now a few of the achievements are pretty hard if you try to earn them...

Portal 2 took me like 10 hours to clear through, and some puzzles stumped the hell out of me. A lot of the time I was just being an idiot and not paying enough attention, though.

I do wish there were more "secrets" to find though. It was depressing to explore every nook and cranny of the game and never unlock anything :D

There's plenty of achievements though for crawling around to find secrets... some require even more work to figure out than the actual final levels! Took me my second try to find the hidden portrait and get Vitrified... I DID have to look up hard transmission, I never did find that one on my own. :D Was rather clever placement...
