Anyone know for sure in which version the 'built-in Google search box' first appeared? And is it true that some versions install Google Toolbar automatically?

I'm not positive, but could it have been at the same time that Opera became free? It became free because of Google, but I am not sure if it had a Google search box prior to that. Sorry :-/
