Microsoft might be the developer behind some of the world's most popular software, but that doesn't mean that all of it's software is void of problems, and that's evidenced by anyone who's ever used Windows. So it's odd, then, when Microsoft does release a piece of software that makes it difficult to complain about, or one that's often recommended over commercial competitors. I'm of course talking about Microsoft Security Essentials.

Thanks for the heads up! This one slipped by me... apparently my copy of MSE already updated itself to 2.0 as well. I had been running a preliminary test build with the network inspection package already included.

I haven't really noticed anything different with the network inspection feature, so if the beta build was anything to go by nothing should change for most users, but the added behind the scenes security is nice. Also worth noting, network inspection isn't possible on XP as XP lacks some of the required services to support it.
