Kind of sick what overclocking an i7-980X can do

Came across this while looking at the tech specs for the i7-980X on Newegg the other day. This guy that bought it made videos of him benchmarking it with Adobe Encoder and some other programs. I seriously was about drooling on my keyboard.

First, the i7-908X versus the i7-920 D0.

Then the i7-980X overclocked to 4.5 Ghz (HOLY SNAP) versus the stock i7-980X.

It would be nice if people who create videos like these take would take consideration for how much they repeat themselves. He must have said "so" about 50 times. It makes it hard to listen to.

That said, the 980X is a damn sweet processor, it goes without saying. "Drool-worthy" is appropriate :D

hmmm ... 4.5 GHz ... despite a naysayer software support manager for software I live & die in, I'll get one of these with the next serious project that comes in. Of course those guys only know stock Dell workstations that still throttle down when that software is run on them.
