System Mechanic 7 Pro review
Hello again from me after so much time!
I honestly doubt that anything is fixed with version 7. I have installed v7 trial and got disappointed from the start. The interface is disgusting, the whole thing looks pretty much like an internet page with links that lead to other sections of the application. I have noticed that everything else remained the same - the entire engine from v6.
I think v6 had been the one where started to make the wrong decions. It's not good old system mechanic anymore, it looks like some shiny addware application that offers you to fix some stuff in your PC but actually makes it slower and worse.
It's all messy when you start the application (like pilot's cockpit) with lots of warnings and alerts (as if you are about to crash).
To be honest I am afraid to try out all features in v7 since we all know that early versions of 6 had big problems that caused system crashes and stuff.
I don't like it. I'll keep using v6.
Can we expect a review on this site any time soon?
Hi,
I have just purchased SM pro 7 and it is awful. Having been a lover of SM6 I thought that for $69 I would upgrade to an all singing all dancing suite of tools that would keep my top flight pc in good shape but what a crock of merde (French). I agree that the interface is horrible and that it doesn't do half the things that it claims, I have also had more program crashes since it has been installed than ever. Three of my main concerns
1. whenever I boot up my pc SM 7 Pro tells me that I have registry problems even if I use it to fix them and then reboot without doing anything else, I always have registry problems.
2. What has happened in Search and recover 4? Search and recover 3 used to find deleted files and then allow me to terminate them at high speed, now if I have files that need terminating it takes eons...... Bad Bad!
I was interested to hear that files terminated this way are actually not terminated at all and can be recovered...... So my question is..... What the hell is the point of this program?
3. Customer Support is terrible. I have submitted two queries based on these problems and I have had one reply (auto generated) telling me to trudge my way through the Knowledge base and find the answer for myself).
I may have lost my money, but I am not going down without a fight. In my honest opinion this release is not worth the money and you should steer clear of it. I have had better results with Tuneup utilities 2007 (trial).
I will await the results of my last enquiry and if it resolves the issues, I'll stick with it, failing that I'll apply for a rebate.
