How to tell when your community has too much tax revenue

With the lousy economy in Michigan, most towns and cities have been struggling with shrinking revenues from state and local property taxes. All over the state, public employees have been getting laid off. There are, of course exceptions, with Bloomfield Hills north of Detroit being one of them. How many cops have you seen cruising around your neighborhood in $100,000 Cadillac XLR-Vs?

Haha. Sweet looking car, it's actually one of the coolest XLR's I've seen, but man... so needless.

If thats legit, it would seriously piss me off.

If it's real, I would imagine (hope) that is a promotional car used to raise awareness at campuses and at fairs. I know the ISP used to come to our campus at ISU in their decked out Camaros with their loud ass stereos and lights everywhere simply to grab everyones attention and speak to them about their department and perhaps even recruit a few students.

Actually, whenever police agencies get a car like that it comes via a drug seizure (normally) so I tend to go with the whole "more power to 'em" frame of mind when I see those.

I've seen Camaros, Corvettes, Escalades, Lamborghini.... all donated by some nice drug dealer.

Good point Matt.

We have a friend of the family who is an undercover drug agent here in Indy and when he goes out on stings, he usually drives something that a dealer would drive... all "donated" by the last slime bag that they caught.
