I got a x2 4600 on my comp, and right now its running at 44C average. If I want to over clock what temperature should I try to keep my cpu at? My motherboard is 44C average as well.

Anything around the 55C area would be good, although I don't think you will run into any problems hitting or going a little beyond 60C.

45+ doesn't seem entirely unreasonable... I believe that's what mine usually sits at. If it hit 55C I'd be a little more concerned.

Yeah Me too
55C is 131 *F most board limits are around 145*F ( 63 C ) That's hot.

mine is a X2 6000+ and runs idle at 29 C to 30 C
But then I use a chiller, not water cooled.
Water cooled can get you maybe just under ambient temps.
Usually my ambient air temps are around 80*F and cpu is 29C is 84*F ( again idle )
Under full load of cpu it can get to around 34C to 35C ...around 93*F
Thats not bad,,,,and it's not even OC'd .

What program are you using to get your temperature? Sometimes the motherboard program is not all that reliable. I've got an MSI nForce 570 motherboard that constantly says my CPU is -48°C even in BIOS.

I use Core Temp and it is consistent anyway.
