A couple of weeks ago, a rumor sprung up that claimed that Gearbox Software, the developer behind such hits as Borderlands, had taken over the Duke Nukem Forever project to make sure that we'd, you know, actually see a release. Well, rumor no more, as the developer announced the fact during PAX 2010 last week.

They even have a Duke Nukem Forever section on their official forums so it looks like the biggest running joke in gaming today may finally become a reality!

Oh, it's official! I'm so stoked... I just hope it's for good reason. I played Duke Nukem 3D again last year on the Xbox 360, and it didn't do well enough to whet my appetite for DNF. I want it here NOW!

Tell me about it. After playing Borderlands for countless hours (I'm still playing it and I have 0 attention span for games after quitting Lord Of The Rings Online) I have no doubt it is going to be a blast.

Shake it baby!

***EDIT: Any info from PAX? Was it fun? Were there chicks? Were there boomsticks?
