Fan question

Hey guys,

My casefan has three wires, a red, a yellow and a black wire. The three connect to my motherboard through a single small Molex connector.

I know the yellow cable is the tachometer, but I'd like to cut the wires that relay information to the motherboard, leaving only the power wire, so the fan runs solely off the power, as there is no computer interferance, it will run at 100%.

Thanks!

Crow is right, regardless of the yellow wire the fan speed is ditctated by the voltage fed to it. You should go into your BIOS and disable the fan control for the ports in question. The majority of auxiliary ports run at the full 12V all the time and do not control the fan speed whatsoever, so you could just use a different port as well.
