CoolIT Omni A.L.C. Self-Contained Liquid GPU Cooler

NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 470 is one of the better GPU offerings on the market right now, but it's also one of the hottest. It's for that reason that after-market coolers exist, although few get quite as high-end as CoolIT's Omni A.L.C. - and the ~$200 price tag proves it. Given that price, let's take a look and see just what this thing is made of.

Nice cooler. It would be a better cooler at 1/2 the price though. $200 for a cooler is just too dear.

While I can understand CoolIT simply cannot make a plate for each model on both sides it sucks a bit for those of us who have budget cards but really want to push them as hard as they can.

$200 is pretty high for a 120mm rad though. I guess you're really paying for the ability to swap out plates as needed assuming your card is supported.

Even that solution has some fault as far as I'm concerned. If the entire kit is $200, then each one of these plates is no doubt going to be about $100. Then there's the problem of upgrading to a new GPU leaving the old GPU cooler-less (unless you retained the original). I just don't see the appeal. You might as well buy a quiet air cooler for each one of your GPUs.

If this sold for around $100, it'd be a must-buy, but at $200, it's prohibitively expensive. For $200, I'd rather built a full PC water-cooling loop that'd take care of the CPU as well. Just seems to make more sense to me.
