At an event held by Apple today, the company unveiled what's to come in the upcoming iPhone OS, version 4.0. Multi-tasking was one introduced feature that took almost no one by surprise, but another that's causing quite a stir all over is the introduction of Apple's mobile advertising platform... "iAd". Simply put, the platform will allow developers the ability to monetize their software with ads, easily.

While I am not the biggest fan of ads, you can't get everything for free in life and I completely agree that as long as it is mostly unobtrusive, who cares.

As for in game ads, there are plenty of current titles that have ads. Even my beloved Trackmania has in game ads that are geographically targeted. Thankfully there is a disable option....
