Any news on the horizon for 64GB and up MiniSD?

I got a new SanDisk Sansa player that is 8 gb internally. The largest mini sd card I can find is 32 gb which would hold my top gear episodes but not my music too (about 11gb)

Any news of any thing coming or soon to be coming?

Are you sure you mean MiniSD and not MicroSD? The former as far as I'm aware goes up to just 8GB, while MicroSD hits 32GB. As for either hitting 64GB, I don't see it happening soon, but I'm confident it will happen at some point. We're dealing with small memory cards here, and in truth, it's amazing to store as much as 32GB on them, haha. Things will continue improving though, so I'm sure we'll see it sooner than later. I probably won't want to see the price of the first 64GB cards though...

The problem is SDHC (MicroSD falls under this category) are limited to 32GB due to the file table / specification involved.

All future cards are going to migrate to SDXC to get around the 32GB limitation, and SDXC cards will not work in devices that don't support the format. Sorry Killem. :(
