AMD has today followed-up to its Radeon HD 7970 launch this past December with an option that slots in right beside NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 580, price-wise. With an SRP of $500, the Radeon HD 7950 isn't inexpensive, but it's not meant to be. More often than not, it clearly wins in benchmarks when facing the GTX 580, and power consumption wise - there's just no comparison.
