Add another 512?

The real test will depend on how much Ram you actually utilize.
set a log to watch your RAM useage (physical, page commits, etc.) if your useage never/rarely exceeds 1 gig, than you'll be better off with one gig in dual channel mode.
with newer systems 2gigs plus seems optimal, but your system may never need that.
might be better to save the price of the ram towards future/other upgrades

Board Doesn't Support Dual Channel
The board that madmat mentioned wasn't mine it is the higher level version of mine, this board is mine http://www.asus.com/products4.aspx?l1=3&l2=13&l3=58&model=219&modelmenu=1
and unfortunetly does not support dual channel memory. I will not risk losing a dual channel set up if i add the other 512 stick.
Another question i just thought of, would it be ok to use 2 512's and one 1GB to make 2 gb. I know that is an odd combination so i suspect not but this is the place to find the answers.
