That is a good point - I have a 2x4 wedged under the main portion of the desk, and a shimmed 1x6 on top of that holding up the monitor shelf. It's been working well for nearly two years.

Yes, I've seen it in stores, and the tactile response is MUCH better than the Cyborg Command Unit. However, I have never been a fan of Razer's driver software - so you have an excellent point. It would be interesting to see if the Belkin unit has the software to back up it's build quality.

I say go for a cheap 8800GT - you can find them for ~$160 these days, and a decent 680i or 650i board for less than that. But considering the timing, I admit that it might be more financially responsible to wait.

If you're on a budget, I'd heartily suggest any of Corsair's units. 650TX 750TX The ol' 620HX might work too - IIRC, it has a single 12v rail.

I'm glad I downloaded the software for both the laser and optical versions - while they're both called Ikari, the differences are much more than simply laser/optical.

Well, since the keypads are identical on the G11 and original G15, I'd say that the noise levels would be identical between the two. However, the newer (rev2) G15 is quieter. I stopped by Dubrovnik last August on my honeymoon and had an awesome time.
