Microsoft Bringing Hyper-V Support to Windows 8

*raises hand* Anyways, forgetting all that can be said about virtualization that can pose a problem to your scenario, don't you agree that this is first and foremost a matter of which operating you have as your main one?

Microsoft Bringing Hyper-V Support to Windows 8

It is. But lets see how much of this gets dropped before release time. Something Microsoft is remembered for is announcing features that later get dropped. All good news for sure. But when it comes to Windows, the years have invariable hardened me into a skeptic prick. I'll place my bets after...

A Quick Look at Mandriva 2011

It was my first distro way back in the late 90s when I first started to dabble with Linux (it would take me nearly 10 more years and the threat Vista posed to me continuing using Microsoft OS, to finally get on with the program on Linux). It was called Mandrake then. I fine distro and one of the...

    Dead Island First Impressions

You reminded me how I reacted to Elemental: War of Magic. That was a 2x :( One of my biggest upsets in gaming history. Still get frustrated just from thinking about it.

    Dead Island First Impressions

Still, I sort of liked the open spaces that video conveyed. If the island is anything like Just Cause, filled with lost of terrain to explore, this could indeed be an awesome game... assuming that fenced HQ isn't the only one you get. And that trailer... wow! I'd seen one with the dead girl...

Civilization V for $12.50, NFS titles for cheap

Here's the thing... and it's a nice coincidence DLCs are being discussed on another thread: I think I mentioned before -- not sure I did, but am doing it now -- that the civilization series is one of my most celebrated games of all times. I just love it to bits. Particularly when playing with...

    Dead Island First Impressions

That looked like fun. A bit worrying though that it doesn't seem the controls are that well tailored to the PC, judging from the difficulty you had driving the car. Also couldn't go unnoticed that they didn't change the console controller symbol that pops up when you get new skills... Couple of...

    Dead Island First Impressions

I was thinking you were having trouble with constant crashes. Reviews of the game a little everywhere paint quite a bleak picture of this title. Makes you think, "if the game is this bad and crashes this much, how come you were able to produce a complete review?" Indeed it's not everyday one...

    Dead Island First Impressions

You know, I don't want to rat on you, but last night I saw you firing up the game on Steam like 300 times in one hour. (Hey, it wasn't my fault! I'm not spying on you. Ask Valve to stop telling everyone all about your bathroom schedule) :p So I have this slight suspicion that...

Deus Ex: Human Revolution - A user review (Part I)

Introduction Every once and a while a video game comes that has me do more than just play it. It introduces gaming concepts or a story that inspires thinking. It's not just the story in Deus Ex: Human Revolution (DE:HR) that draws me into philosophical tirades with myself though. It's also the...

    Deus Ex: Human Revolution Review

You are so right, Brett! Nothing like truly evaluating a game and letting it sink into us, before writing a review. There's so much more that can be said at that moment. And this goes for about anything; software and hardware. How many reviews do we know... say of a keyboard or a mouse... that...

    The Game that DLC Built

ROFL. I pissed my pants! I'm not big on DLCs. Hate the concept, but generally speaking rarely have I seen the point anyways. Except perhaps with Borderlands. I think those where great DLCs. The rare exception that should never be used to confirm that DLCs are great.

Earth's population to surpass 7 billion soon

Nature has interesting ways of correcting these imbalances. And it's never pretty.

DICE On BF3′s Regenerating Tank Health

I think they are implementing both things, Optix. Just only if the tank is lightly damaged and only after a period of time of not taking any damage. What I don't understand is why can't the tank operator actively perform these repairs. Regeneration is so not cool. Not producing a link to the...

DICE On BF3′s Regenerating Tank Health

Still, the question remains: Why? Why have damage regenerate? What exactly is the game design conditional that can only be satisfied by regenerating tank light damage? Not wanting to seem like I know better than the game designers -- but doing it anyways -- this looks a lot more like a shortcut...

    This week tech roundup

Very interesting Corsair memory in this week's TG tech roundup, folks. It's a 8 GB dual channel perfect for a 64bit system if, like me, you want to move from 32bit, or are already there but have less than 8Gb; a value I consider minimal for 64 bit systems. Check it out. What's more...

    The dream keyboard

Hehe, it's not that bad guys. Just a not into luxuries anymore (and gamming is one, I'm afraid). And hopefully temporarily, until wife gets a new job. Thank you for the best whishes :) And now for something completely different, here's a rant: It's incredible how companies are messing up with...

    Marketing fabricated ARGs

Anyone else annoyed at Deus Ex ARG? When Valve created the Potato Sack Pack and GLaDOS@Home ARG I was one of the critics of this form of advertisement. Not just because it end up becoming one big flop. I was criticizing it even before its conclusion... and players learned that all they got was...

    Folding@home 3850 AGP

Umm... the CPU will not affect your folding performance, GFreeman. F@H GPU client doesn't make use of GPU-CPU multithreading facilities in CUDA. It makes exclusive use of the GPU.
