    ATI HD 4870 1GB vs. NVIDIA GTX 260/216 896MB

As I mentioned in the article, either of these cards are good. If both cards cost the exact same, I'd personally choose NVIDIA. Their cards overclock better and run a little cooler, and if you happen to like PhysX, that ability is there as well.

    Sapphire Radeon HD 4670 GDDR4 & HD 4830

There just wasn't time to test those cards, but to be honest, the 9600 GT ranks above the 9600 GSO, and from what I saw around the web in other articles, the HD 4830 beats out the 9600 GT in every test. You could use that as a baseline. I look forward to being able to get caught up around here...

Intel Downplays ION, NVIDIA Refutes Their Claims

From our front-page news:If there's a fierce rivalry to ever take the proverbial cake, is has got to be Intel vs. NVIDIA. Both companies have been at each others throats for quite a while now, so when you hear one say something less-than-ideal about the other, it's hard to know what to believe...

    Asus Xonar Soundcard Drivers!

Clemens Ladisch is the same guy responsible for the Linux Xonar drivers, which I've been using for the past year, so huge thanks to him! This is a cool work-around, I admit... funny that it's this "easy". I still need to follow-up with ASUS though and see if they can give me an update on the...

    NZXT Zero 2 Full-Tower

You can't? I figured that with a full-tower, it could handle any-sized (current) GPU. I'll get Bill on the "case" and check it out.

    Sapphire Radeon HD 4670 GDDR4 & HD 4830

Gaming on a budget isn't as difficult as it once was, thanks to superb offerings from both ATI and NVIDIA that go for a modest price. But, what about the sub-$100 crowd? We'll find that out here, at least from the ATI side of things, with Sapphire's HD 4670 GDDR4 and HD 4830. Both feature great...

    Apple Releases Safari 4 Beta

From our front-page news: Two summers ago, Apple at their WWDC conference announced that their Safari browser would be released for the Windows platform, alongside their OS X offering. This was rather significant news, but thanks to some issues that plagued the original release, the browser...

    CUDA n-Body

Hah, no worries on the queue situation. It's always a little "foolish" as I said, but lately it's simply been made worse by the fact that I've been running into a lot of issues with every large article I've been doing lately. As a result, I have a few things kicking around that should have been...

ASUS' Xonar Essense STX Designed for High-End Headphone Users

I was talking to ASUS a few weeks ago about this, and while I won't mention everything that was said, the guy I was speaking with did acknowledge that he'd like to see improvements made to the drivers soon. The fact is, they keep releasing new models, but are not updating the drivers... they...

    PCFlip Noctua NH-U12P Cooler Giveaway

Ahh wow, I had no idea that the cooler was that good. I held one not long ago and didn't like the feel of it to be honest, but it might be because I'm so used to the Thermalright coolers (which is used in every computer in the house here). I'm the kind of person who prefers looks over...

Will Album Leaks Ever End? Doesn't Seem So!

Haha. I'm not even sure how's done... I thought that Steam read the process that was running? Did they just rename a real application to Half-Life 3 or something? Either way, that's funny. With Last.fm it's even easier... just rename the song and that's it. It's not like the service scans the...

Does AMD's Competitive Future Look Bright?

From our front-page news: When AMD released their Phenom II processors during CES, reviewers all over exclaimed just how great they were. Even though they didn't compare to Core i7, or even beat out Core 2 in all tests, the fact that AMD came that close was nice enough, since their previous...

iMagic OS: Commercial Linux Distro Gone Wrong

That's true, but Red Hat is at the top of the chain, whereas iMagic OS gets its sources from Ubuntu/Debian. Perhaps since it's a "fork", it doesn't require the sources to be made available, or is that untrue as well? Either way, sources would be nice, but I'm really not sure who would be...

GameStop's Training Videos Laughable at Best

From our front-page news: If you happen to hold a grudge towards GameStop for any reason at all, you're bound to get nice and wound up from one of their most recent "training" videos that has been posted online. As Kotaku appropriately puts it, the title of the video should be, "How To Talk To...

    In-Game Web Browser Comparison

Although I'm not entirely pleased with Steam all of the time, I do give them kudos for creating a system that should have been created long ago. As it stands right now, every single one of the games we use for our GPU/CPU/motherboard testing is available from within Steam, so to say that it's...

iMagic OS: Commercial Linux Distro Gone Wrong

I am not familiar enough with these licences to comment, so I won't state much. It's true though, the source code should be made available. I believe I saw it mentioned somewhere that the source code is made available to customers who purchase it. Is that the case for other commercial distros as...

    CUDA n-Body

I agree with Kougar on this one, in that the metric really shouldn't deliver important information. I should ask though, for what reason do you want to make sure one card is better than another? Is it for Folding@home? GPGPU? If I can find the time, I'd be happy to take a look at this, but it...

AMD Boasts 4GHz Air Overclocks on "Phenom II", 6GHz on LN2

Those are some great points, and the same points I'll be posting about in our news soon. It's a sad situation for AMD... everything is working against them, financials and design. It's tough. It's not impossible to crawl out of their hole and strike-back, but it's going to be incredibly...

Intel Unable to Replicate SSD Speed Degradation Issue

I was thinking the exact same thing. It would be nice, but seems entirely unlikely. Who knows though. Given that SSDs are growing in popularity fast, and will be much moreso in the next few years, hopefully they'll decide to revise the upcoming spec for that purpose. It seems highly unlikely...

    PCFlip Noctua NH-U12P Cooler Giveaway

Haha, free cooling for the win. I've heard a lot of great things about that cooler... good to see there's some serious competition out there nowadays. Good luck to those who enter.
