    Corsair Releases "Extreme" SSD Line-up

From our front-page news:It's hard to say that the SSD game is heating up, because in reality, it's been hot for a while. A day doesn't go by when a company doesn't release a new model - even companies we've up to this point have never heard of - but it's all good, because as these new products...

25 Brilliant Bookmarklets to Boost Browsing

From our front-page news: If you're asking yourself, "What the heck is a 'bookmarklet'?", don't worry... I didn't know what one was either until I spotted an article over at TechRadar. As you likely assumed, 'bookmarklet' is a portmanteau of 'bookmark' and 'applet', and how they function is...

    Promises Plated in Chrome

With the recent announcement of Google's Chrome OS, open source zealots everywhere have been licking their lips raw and playing their trumpets loud. But is another big corporation going to be a good thing for OSS? We take a trip down memory lane and look for whether Google can (or wants to)...

Retail Employee Perspective of Bricks in Boxes

From our front-page news: Ever get home after an exciting trip of running to some retail store to purchase the latest gadget that you just had to have, only to open up the box to find something other than what you were expecting? I never have, but there are many who haven't been so lucky, and we...

3DRealms and Take-Two Continue to Duke it Out in Court

From our front-page news: It's been a good two months since we all found out that 3DRealms had shut down, and a lot has happened since. Of course as we now know, 3DRealms hasn't actually shut down completely, but rather currently exists with a truly skeletal team. It's also been found out that...

Apple's Latest iTunes Update Breaks Palm Pre Support

From our front-page news:When Palm released their Pre smartphone, one of the perks was something unique. That of course was the ability to sync up with Apple's iTunes music software, and this is a feature that Palm themselves boasted about in order to sell more units. Well, as it turns out...

Two Core i7 and One Core i5 Lynnfield En Route

From our front-page news:Been holding out on building a new computer because Lynnfield is en route? Well, it doesn't look like the wait will be that much longer, as the prospective release date is hovering around September. That's not straight out of Intel's mouth, but the rumor-mill, of course...

Will Chrome OS Wipe Out Splashtop and HyperSpace?

From our front-page news: When Google announced their Chrome OS just last week, speculation begin almost instantaneously with regards to what exactly it would become. Google isn't too clear on the subject, which doesn't help things too much, but as it appears now, the OS is not designed to be a...

Transcend Releases DDR3 ECC Modules with Built-In Temperature Sensors

From our front-page news: Although I don't partake in the activity much anymore, I used to be huge into overclocking memory. Even though at stock speeds, memory doesn't really offer mind-blowing differences in performance over a slower kit, something about pushing the frequencies to ridiculous...

    Logitech G19 Gaming Keyboard

With gamers so content with current keyboards, companies such as Logitech are trying to introduce the most feature-robust and unique models to the market, and they've pulled it off with their G19. Featuring a bright top-mounted LCD and a slew of gamer-specific options, the only potential...

Windows 7 RTM Not Yet Released, But Will be Soon

From our front-page news: Last Monday, we posted about a potential release date for the Windows 7 RTM, which was effectively yesterday, the 13th. That date came and went, however, and no RTM saw the light of day. Of course, it's hard to say that Microsoft missed the date, because not once did...

Read Your Snail Mail Without Receiving It

From our front-page news: Now here's an interesting take on snail mail. I'm not sure about you guys, but I receive a lot of junk mail (and for what it's worth, I'll point out that it's Rogers in Canada who are responsible for a lot of it), and it sucks. I hate running out to the mail box only to...

Source Code for Multiple Atari 7800 Games Released

From our front-page news:It's not all too often that a cool piece of video gaming history becomes available to the public, but that's just what happened last week with the release of the source code of multiple Atari 7800 games... the source code! For current or up-and-comer game developers...

    A Testing Hypothesis

Of course, but there are good ways to do that, and poor ways ;) Readers of this site, sure. But I look through some other sites, all of which will remain nameless, who I personally think don't truly strive to deliver the best and more reliable content to their readers, and in looking through...

    Building an Affordable "Skulltrail" System

Glad to hear about the results of the RMA process... good the replacement fee is quite modest. I'm not sure it makes up for all the hassle the machine has been to date, though ;)

    Games you are playing

I love that game for the graphics, but that's about it. I'm horrible at the genre, and can only recall once when I've actually managed to land a plane without burning in it ;-)

    VirtualBox 3.0 Final Released

Only one real CPU supported? What's the point of that? Although I thought when I tested it out, it DID indeed use three real cores, but I can't recall for sure. I'll have to test this out next time I have Windows booted up on the benchmarking machine. As for VMware Workstation, I've also become...

    Current Overclocked CPU World Records

That's quite an impressive clock! I mean, if there's a budget chip, it's that one, and to overclock to 150% and beyond... insane. As for Intel's claims... we'll find out soon enough I guess. It's hard to know until then what's the bottleneck... the Nehalem architecture, or the QPI bus and IMC.

MacBook Pro 13" Can't Display Millions of Colors - Or Can it?

I called them 6-bit as that's what they are being referred to as, although it would be helpful to call them by what they really are: 18-bit. If the MacBooks were using 64-color displays, I think we would have had an uproar far sooner ;-) Interesting URL Kougar... I find it neat that slower...

Are Notebook Coolers Worth the Cash?

I agree with most of your points, although I do think that even some new notebooks could benefit from active cooling. Even the low-powered HP dv2 I have here gets pretty warm after a while (I wasn't expecting that at all). Still, it seems like more of an inconvenience than anything to use one...
