Are Gaming Magazines Going To Die?

One good thing this is doing to the tech magazines is that we'll start seeing even better writing across the board in the print mags, as well as a lot more in-depth industry analysis and topical material, and a lot more expertise in general.

    Honestech My-IPTV&CAM Anywhere Deluxe

No, there were plenty of other things that Colin didn't like about the software. Buttons that don't do anything?! What was _that_ all about?

    Antec P182 Performance Mid-Tower

The fan is supposed to go between the hard drives and the power supply, in the middle of that 'tunnel' thing. There's a sliding door there to keep airflow nice and orderly through the tunnel after you route the cables. That's your fan for keeping the bottom hard drive cage cool.

    Do you have MusicMatch Jukebox?

I haven't touched MusicMatch Jukebox in about four years. For those who were wondering.

    Reader's Rig Photo Gallery

Well, I transport my rig a lot (and I mean a LOT), so water spillage is a major concern for me. That's what has kept me on air instead of water. I'm also not sure whether there are any good perfectly-silent watercooling pumps out there, and it would certainly be a major project to outfit my case...

    Reader's Rig Photo Gallery

Taterworks Reference I suppose since I started this thread, it's high time I contribute. This is my daily driver, the machine I've built for general-purpose stuff. One of its design requirements was that it had to be completely "silent" - inaudible over the noise floor in a quiet room. I built...

    Logitech G51 Gaming Surround Speakers

Hi online1, First of all, consider every component in the signal chain, both real and virtual. Make sure the volume is turned up on your source component, whether it be your PC or your mp3 player. Check your Windows Volume Control (Start>Accessories>Entertainment>Volume Control), and make sure...

    OCZ Vanquisher CPU Cooler

Yeah, the orientation of this cooler was limited by the orientation of the Socket AM2 bracket. Most all the newer boards I've seen use this vertical orientation, so you're pretty much stuck if you aren't using an LGA 775 processor. The new ZEROTherm Nirvana, on the other hand, features a clip...

My seagate freeagent can´t be found by the computer.

Hey, guys. I've got a question for you all. In my review from April, I reviewed the Seagate FreeAgent Pro model, which I suspect has significantly different innards from the plain-vanilla FreeAgent. How many of you are having these problems with the 'Pro' model? What I'm trying to determine is...

OCZ Releases Compact Vanquisher CPU Cooler

In my experience, the plastic heatpipe caps fall off. However, if you're handy with a vial of Krazy Glue, you won't have any trouble with that. Still, the ends on the Vanquisher's heatpipes look significantly cleaner and neater than the ends of the Freezer 7's cooler. The base of the Vanquisher...

    Case & Cooling?

I've got friends who have had good results with the Q6600 and the Tuniq tower, but make sure you orient the cooler so you get front-to-back airflow or bottom-to-top airflow. The Tuniq thermal paste is also decent as well. A little bit, spread thin with the edge of a razor blade, goes a long way...

    AsylumLAN 30

Hey, I've been there! But not this time, unfortunately. Ah, it's just as well - taking a decent picture of me is challenging.

    Razer Mako

Honestly, we've been working on it. Razer informed us that review samples will be 'very limited', which we suspect is Razer's way of politely informing us that in the world of audio hardware reviews, they don't think we matter very much. Still, we're keeping in touch on the off-chance that we've...

    Logitech G51 Gaming Surround Speakers

Simply remove the screws in the beige/silver trim pieces on the sides of each satellite, and the clear plastic shell can then be removed. I had another photo of removing the side pieces, and I was debating whether to use it instead, but I've been trying to fight 'bloat' in my reviews.

Is this a reason for concern?

Spin retry - could it have something to do with the lubricant in the motor bearings turning to goo? If there's a problem with the spindle motor, the drive's days are numbered.

    Everglide s-500 Headset

Hi. Do you have any 'virtual surround', 'environmental', or 'EAX' DSP settings enabled in your sound card's control panel? This could account for the echo. If your last headphones/speakers were a total pile, it's conceivable that you might have left the DSP settings on by mistake and simply...

    2.1 speaker set

I agree - your budget seems a bit restrictive (as in it will 'restrict' you to what's on the shelf at wal-mart). The real magic in the 2.1 category doesn't begin to happen until you go above $100. At that point, you can get into a set of Altec Lansing's FX4021 speakers. While they tend to have...
