CM Storm Sentinel Advance Gaming Mouse

You seem to be targeting the wrong people with these statements. I do think that some companies should get around to making left-handed specific mice, and it makes no sense whatsoever that there aren't more of them. Stop taking what I say out of context. I said companies don't care, not that I...

Intel Core i7-870 & i5-750 - Nehalem for the Mainstream

Without question. If you want to do any overclocking, you're going to hit i7-870 performance and beyond. Given that the i5-750 and i7-870 in our overclocking tests could reach 4.0GHz, I have no doubt the i7-860 is a great clocker as well.

CM Storm Sentinel Advance Gaming Mouse

Bill doesn't need to be reminded... he's not the one producing the peripherals. His statement is true regardless of things... companies just don't seem to care. As for the 25% figure, that's exaggerated. I've never known the figure to be more than 10%, and a Wikipedia article backs me up on...

CM Storm Sentinel Advance Gaming Mouse

Cooler Master has just released its first gaming mouse under the CM Storm branding, and it happens to be quite good. Targeting more serious gamers, there's the ability for robust macros, all of which will be saved right on the mouse itself. To add to the cool-factor, there's even color-varying...

Benchmarking the Latest Hardware is Fun, Unless... Part Two?

You raise a few good points, Kougar, and I should have pointed out some of the same... such as the fact that Vista and 7 are far more resilient when it comes to changing hardware than XP ever was. Still, changing from an Intel chipset to an NVIDIA chipset, as an example, will cause...

GOG.com - Breathing New Life into Old Games

You make a good point. I posted just the other day about downloading free games, and I kicked myself when a couple games I bought at GOG.com could be found there for free (and legally).

Intel Core i7-870 & i5-750 - Nehalem for the Mainstream

I'd love to, but it wouldn't happen right away. Time is extremely tight lately with other projects.

OCZ Alchemy USB keyboard for 99 cents after MIR

$20 is still a great deal. I've had a bad habit of just paying $25 for a lackluster Logitech KB at a brick and mortar. At least this one has some color!

Apple Updates iTunes to Version 9, Introduces iTunes LP

To add two things... The shopping cart hasn't been removed, per se. Rather, it's been moved to the "Wish List". The songs I had added to the shopping cart in the old iTunes were there. Also, Apple made it not-so-obvious to find different categories, and it took me like 10 minutes to figure it...

    AMD Launches Industry's First Sub-$100 Quad-Core

From our front-page news: When Intel released their Lynnfield processors a few weeks ago, we saw some unbelievable value. These Quad-Cores, equipped with their robust Turbo feature, were simply fast, as heck. But, while the Core i5-750 comes in at $200, and P55 motherboards kick off at $109...

Microsoft Charges "About $50" for Windows to OEMs, Bing Hits 10%

From our front-page news:There's always been mystery surrounding how much Microsoft charges OEM's for copies of Windows, but part of the truth was revealed during the Jefferies Annual Technology Conference in New York. Microsoft's Charles Songhurts, the GM of Corporate Strategy, said that the...

    Free WinX DVD Ripper Platinum

WinX DVD sent us a note to say that they're giving away their "WinX DVD Ripper Platinum" software for free until the end of the month (normally retails for $24.95). I've not used the software, but I plan to next time I need to rip a DVD. http://www.winxdvd.com/specialoffer/sep09.htm

I've never used that keyboard, but that's a a great price, haha :D Nice find!

Is the Archos 5 the Killer Media Tablet?

From our front-page news: Our news section is home to numerous topics, but when it comes to media players, it's usually either an Apple or Microsoft product we're talking about. But, those two companies are far from being the two only players in the market. Another is Archos, and they're...

    When dinosaurs ruled the internet....

Unpleasant isn't even the word... it's so unfair, and the CRTC hasn't got a clue. Things aren't perfect in the US, but it feels even worse up here in Canada just due to the absolute lack of competition. Sometimes our ultra-small population (compared to the US) doesn't do us much good. Haha...

Is Touch in Windows 7 Dead on Arrival?

From our front-page news: Although Microsoft has many features they can tout about their upcoming Windows 7, InfoWorld is beginning to question whether the OS' touch capabilities should be one of them. I don't entirely disagree, as I have found little use for touch capabilities outside of...

Playing Old PC Games for Free

From our front-page news:If there's one thing that never fails to make me experience some nostalgia, it's either playing classic games, or reading about them. I pretty much grew up on the PC, with my first "real" PC (meaning one that didn't break) being a 286. From there, we kept upgrading and...

Benchmarking the Latest Hardware is Fun, Unless... Part Two?

It wasn't me who ever suggested that driver-less images were a bad thing. I've made my self very clear about those, and I'm more than confident in using them, regardless of what other people think. This issue didn't come down at all to the hardware between the boards, but the fact that I enabled...

Benchmarking the Latest Hardware is Fun, Unless... Part Two?

/me swallows some humble pie. It turns out that this is not an issue with the Gigabyte board, but rather to do with the fact that I'm an idiot. You see... I'm not sure what got it into my head that Extreme HD = AHCI, but it turns out that there's more to it than that. Extreme HD = RAID, from...

Benchmarking the Latest Hardware is Fun, Unless... Part Two?

So... after even more trial and error, I figured out that the problem was rather simple. It was the BIOS. As I mentioned before, Gigabyte recently took to renaming AHCI to "Extreme HD", and it was my hunch that there was more to the story. So, I created a brand-new image on the ASUS board, and...
