    One of those weeks...

Ever have one of those weeks (or stretches) where nothing seems to go right? Our HD 6900 series article should have been posted last week, but wasn't due to a multitude of problems that arose during testing with our test machine. This is not the fault of the cards, but something else to do with...

If price is any inidication of performance...

To be fair, it DOES have a nice cooler. Screenshotted so that the proof will remain forever.

What Should the Default Action of Hitting a Power Button Be?

While working on a couple of projects on my PC last week, one of my cats decided it'd be as good a time as any to hop up onto the chassis and rest his foot on the power button. The chassis I use, Cooler Master's CM Storm Sniper, is quite good in many ways, but if I could change one thing, it'd...

    White Box - Black Sun

I tend to be drawn to the color white when used in a PC, so I'm in heaven with this one. The chassis base is NZXT's Phantom, and the modder's goal was to use as much white as possible, and have black accents. I think it looks good :D http://www.overclocking-pc.fr/forums/showthread.php?t=19801

    Mass Effect 3 Trailer...

Am I the only one who hasn't played Mass Effect? I have the first one, I need to make it a point to play it in the new year, and then the second. I can't believe how far behind I am on games.

    Gamer Alignment Chart

Yes, when a kid kicks off trash talk with the n-word, it can only get even worse. It's ridiculous, as soon as I heard her say that, I just stopped watching. The parents need a slap upside the head.

    I tripped over some money!

To be honest, given the GPU you are using and the resolution you're gaming at, I think an SSD is absolutely the best choice here. It'll improve the performance of your PC in a way that a CPU will be unable to. It's interesting you mention this quandry though, because we'll be publishing an...

Jeopardy! to Feature IBM Supercomputer as Contestant

I agree, and the problem is, I'm not quite sure how this is going to work. If I ask you a question and you don't know the answer, you are not just going to come up with it out of thin air, so what's different here? Watson would have to have a database of some sort with all of this information...

    In flight wifi FTW

Finally, a proper use for this smilie: ! Seriously, that's some intense hardware. You're playing with a piece of PCB that costs as much as some houses, LOL. Or nearly a Bentley GT. Your job must be extremely interesting.

    Show off your desktop!

Haha, I don't sugar coat much, and you'd certainly know if you had an ugly kid or not. If I ever have kids I hope to have them as cute as that, seriously. CHANGE IT. Boy, BC2 gamers are boring. :p

First Intel Sandy Bridge Notebooks to be Quad-Core

If an insider reporting to CNET is to be believed, it looks like the initial notebook offerings to employ Intel's Sandy Bridge processor architecture will be of the quad-core variety. That's right... no dual-cores at launch. This is quite the shift from previous launches, where dual-cores have...

Jeopardy! to Feature IBM Supercomputer as Contestant

What works at IBM, but isn't an employee? Stumped? A supercomputer, of course! Quiz questions like these are what we'll see in February, when one of America's most-loved game shows, Jeopardy!, features one of its most unique contestants ever, "Watson". No, it's not a human being, but rather the...

    I see what Rob meant...

I'm guessing there's just some major issue with that card and those settings. Problems like that with dual-GPU cards are too common sometimes.

    removing alureon.a

If it's a master boot record virus, the best course of action would be to get the data off that drive and onto another, and then wipe the infected drive with a secure erase (HDD Erase). That should get rid of it, as it also cleans out the MBR, which a format sometimes doesn't do. Sounds like...
