    Should we consider RAM content?

I meant to comment that this link compares memory bandwidth of systems including the affect of the CPU clock rate ... it would seem. I compared the % change of CPU clock and float MB/s between the i7 systems and it does not directly track the CPU clock. I'm looking for the test methodology page...

    Should we consider RAM content?

I have over looked this thread ... Maybe a run of Euler3D with changing only the memory speed of an I7 system is possible? Keep the CPU clock, motherboard, memory timings as consistent as possible in other words.

    Who really makes this stuff....

ma-a-aybe it would be worth putting together a database of "suspected" & "confirmed" rebranded devices. This is no great surprise thinking about refrigerator, washers, & dryers ... just ask any service tech for those items & you will find out that there are only about 3 brands of repair parts...

    Intel's "Skulltrail 2" to Feature 16 Cores?

crunch power with kind of processing power they will be able to figure out how to handle the "thermal solution"

    If you had 3 computers....

at least no one has asked, "why would you name your computers?". I guess a web site like this protects "us" from "those".

    If you had 3 computers....

Jurassic workgroup with dilbert, dogbert, ratbert, lassie, digby, courage ... in the past were ren & stimpy, beavis, butthead I have been thinking about merging in the next names with an adult beverage theme ... merlot, chablis, guinness, maddog, buttnaked ... you know, nothing stuffy or...

Foxconn Employee Commits Suicide After iPhone Prototype Disappears

The only laws that may have been broken were some stocks that employees received & didn't report to the IRS. The IRS did catch on tho ... so there are a few that do not come to the US anymore. The only US citizen that I knew of, did properly and voluntarily report his stock.

Foxconn Employee Commits Suicide After iPhone Prototype Disappears

Preparation H was not strong enough When I started consulting 10+ years ago, Foxcon/Hon Hai, was my 1st contract. At the time they were known for not having any morality. Taiwanese that I had knew in the US urged me not to work for them ... consulting was ok. Reverse engineering or even hiring...

    Our Processor Testing Suite

perfmon I used to use perfmon to get more details, but haven't looked at it for quite a while. Maybe i will start playing with it again. It offers the ability to see what is going on in networked machines ... although I can't get that to work now ... it was really simple once upon a time...

    Our Processor Testing Suite

What does it all mean??? Geez ... where has the time gone? Time must be OC-ed. Pegged CPUs are a wondrous thing. But, like with my number crunchers, since I did not write the code I don't know what it means. One of my programs always pegs all of the cores/processors. Another will...

    Should we consider RAM content?

haha ... well there are a few packages that I know the price with certainty. www.ansoft.com www.cst.com www.remcom.com to name 3 3d electromagnetic field solvers. Their primary programs can predict with good accuracy everything from how antennas for communication with satellites & antennas...

    Should we consider RAM content?

I wasn't going to add anymore to this thread, bu-u-ut I cannot resist. I have finally just run Everest on my Supermico H8DC8 e/w dual Opteron 290s. It is fascinating that memory latency is between 59 ns & 60ns. This is with the cheapest possible RAM I could get at the time .... Patriot DDR...

    Antec 1000W Quattro... dead.

Nothing else was taken out by it? I have had a few PSUs that died and so did the mother board on 2 occasions, but I was never sure who killed who.

ASRock Also Going the 2oz Copper Route?

I think this is on a P5Q (ASUS Rock Solid - Heart Touching) written on the side of the box ... makes me smile, but I will be "PC" & not comment more on that. I will have to think & read with a little more attention about this "phase solution" term. My initial reaction is ... ehhhhh ... but...

ASRock Also Going the 2oz Copper Route?

This might be sort of mixing apples and oranges. I am only assuming that 2 oz copper refers to the inner ground planes and because they are the largest areas of continuous copper, this would suggest some kind of thermal performance advantage. The problem with that is ... where is the heat going...

    Should we consider RAM content?

Trying to stick to "RAM content", there were memory tests that intensely tested the memory system with tests like walk through 1s with all of memory set to 0 and then looks for bit errors ... and many variations of this ad nauseam ... and can take a very long time. The programmers had some...

    Should we consider RAM content?

Thanks for replying to my off topic tangent... but just to make sure that we are on the same bit map ... and I have read thru a boat load of reviews, you are saying that the 920 will (or has for some) been over clocked as high as any 975? I def like the price difference at ~$800...

    Should we consider RAM content?

long winded ?s The memory testing here proves out what I have experienced with my apps which are all intensive number-crunchers that run from hours to da-a-ays. RAM speed has had little to no impact with any of my systems over the years. It is impressive to see all cores pegged in Task Manager...
