Could this be the best motherboard review ever?

Link is timing out ... I'll try later. I suggested Naked Reviews because Naked News is produced in Toronto. Or, so I have heard reported :) I thought is just sort of that Canadian thing. "Not that there is anything wrong with that."

EA's Latest Marketing Techniques Stir up Controversy

The logic or the lack there of. Simply because someone declares an act to be a "something" (evil in any way) doesn't mean it is so. Besides this is all about games ... play the silly game & cash it ...

    Windows 7 - A Happy OS?

I wonder if a timeline already exists comparing MS DOS/Windows vs Linux vs Macintush. The term "up to date way" ... to some other OS ... makes me jerk.

Windows XP Usage Continues to Drop

Everything that 2Tired2Tango suggests can be accomplished with Windows CE & Mobile apps on the desk top. I'm good for that. NOT!!!!

Windows XP Usage Continues to Drop

My sentiments exactly as it was for W2K, but alas ... SolidWorks and even my number crunchers' GUI demanded at least XP so I begrudgingly upgraded. I always keep those programs current because development is quite dynamic and for best support. The lack of interest for upgrading OS is partially...

Windows XP Usage Continues to Drop

I have XP64 on 4 systems. Recommended OS by my expensive software vendors as recently as this past Spring. Well, that is unless you end up talking to 1 of the linux fanatics.

    Site design ... a pet peave ...

Ok, I respect your experience & opinions. I do remember some of the evolution but only as a semi-attentive user and never fielding those who always have an opinion to lay out. I felt like whining. I visit a couple of car forums and they have no shortage of opinions. Never mind that many of...

    Site design ... a pet peave ...

... sort of? When commenting to a thread the "quote" button is more readily apparent to hit than "new reply". I find it mildly annoying that many people quote the message immediately beneath theirs not to mention a "From our front-page news:" and eventually you find their words of wisdom...

AMD to Launch Six-Core Processor Next Year

Ha! You do wonder what the motivation is behind all of these multi-core chips is? I am thinking that the current "common" programs which are heavily user involved (aka slowed down by the user) will never have a reason to multi-thread. Of course the tech marketeers are hoping that we will...

AMD to Launch Six-Core Processor Next Year

I wonder about the per core speed. Even with multi-threaded apps there can still be some features that don't lend to that very well.

    Our Processor Testing Suite

I have to remember to setup thread subscriptions ... Kougar, & I am just thinking out loud, no basis for this lengthy comment other than writing assembly long ago. Given the differing CPU architectures of the cores, the number of registers, pipelined, hyperthreading ... yadda yadda yadda...

    Should we consider RAM content?

It is even more difficult to understand the difference between the multi-core values of 40.46 vs 44.13 suggests for what ever real world applications happen to be. And, now there is a D0 stepping of the i7-975 which somewhere I just read adds a performance boost vs the C0. Technology changes...

Logitech's "Darkfield" mice track on glass

yes .. sorry, I have been in the office already too long today ... I have stopped using mouse pads. I have a smooth desk top & it is easier to clean than a textured mouse pad. They don't indicate how long the battery lasts.

Logitech's "Darkfield" mice track on glass

As I sheepishly scroll thru this thread with my rolling ball mouse (it is cordless tho) and think about Morse code vs SMS text ... Morse code ... is "read" w/o looking at a screen & therefore works for the blind is sent w/o looking at a screen, psbly bgn shrt pln mssgs (possibly began...

    Should we consider RAM content?

but ... ... I plotted some of the data from that article, "Intel Core i7 - Choosing the Best Memory Kit". The attached screen capture from Excel suggests (from the last data point) multi-core performance may benefit from higher clock rates. Only 1 data point to go on here and not to go...
