I usually upgrade on a 2 year cycle. However that would be the "major" upgrade, utilizing a new CPU/mobo install. I do upgrade throughout those 2 years... video card here, hard drive there... maybe a sound card... but I look hard at tech leaps usually on a 2 year cycle.

bandwidth seems to bee eeeked out on the ATi chipset, both allows for dual graphics, albeit in their own particular falvor (SLI on the NVidia side, and Crossfire on ATI). I remember reading that the ATI boards consume less power, resulting in less power loss which was resulting in more efficient...

the leaked benchmarks concern me. The chip is not final, and the machine that was tested on was not allowed to be investigated. The whole "we'll test this for you, here's your numbers... next in line please" just smacks of a bad scenario. Time will tell though what AMD's plans have instore for...

Find yourself a hospital supply shop and get 2 pair of "gurney wheels"... I believe each of those rolling beds weighs in excess of 300 lbs + weight of the occupant. And the wheels need ot ride smoothly! ;) Might be a smidge big for your case...
