Thermaltake Releases SLI GPU Only PSU

*THAT* is a hella good idea!.... depending on the price of the thing. If you have Powersupply that is (lets say) marginal after upgrading to your new hardware base, you could then take the 2 cards that are going to kill your PSU, and give them the stability that they need, *without* killing...

Anybody else try to get 3 years out of their computer?

Well... if we are talking about "using" a machine, and "do we get 3 years out of it?", hell yes! I have P3 600's and 733's around my house, as well as some Athlon and Athlon XP lovin' happening in the garage. They are not my primary machines, but theyare still productive and I still have use...

Wow! A Fed on the board! My dad is a retired Secret Service Agent! Much respect for you bro! Hi, Craig here. 36 (today, thanks guys!) years old, living in Plano Texas. Been playing on computers since about '86, started doing it professionally around '96. Bought me one machine (Pentium 100)...

Anybody else try to get 3 years out of their computer?

I usually upgrade on a 2 year cycle. However that would be the "major" upgrade, utilizing a new CPU/mobo install. I do upgrade throughout those 2 years... video card here, hard drive there... maybe a sound card... but I look hard at tech leaps usually on a 2 year cycle.

    OCZ Gold XTC 2GB PC2-4200

Love the mesh, I'm not into DDR2 yet, so the performance is nothing for me to concern myself with *yet*... (read AM2) THEN... I will take more notice of the DDR2 landscape! ;)

Which motherboard chipset do you like better?

bandwidth seems to bee eeeked out on the ATi chipset, both allows for dual graphics, albeit in their own particular falvor (SLI on the NVidia side, and Crossfire on ATI). I remember reading that the ATI boards consume less power, resulting in less power loss which was resulting in more efficient...

Nvidia 7900 Is relaesed - review list

Rob... just so you know, when I "aim" for a card, I'm looking for 6-9 months down the road... unless I win some sort of sweet contest! ;)

    Pizza or Burger?

My wife and I had pizzas from a place called "Boston's"... new franchise opening up down here in North Dallas (Allen/McKinney actually). My wife and I differ on the type of pizza we like (read: she likes a little sauce, I like a lot of sauce) so finding common ground is nearly impossible...

Nvidia 7900 Is relaesed - review list

I canot wait until I can get my hands on some 7900 goodness... these cards look top notch! I think I will aim for dual 7900 GT's, the GTX's will likely be out of my price range for quite a while! ;)

    Cebit 2006 Preview

the leaked benchmarks concern me. The chip is not final, and the machine that was tested on was not allowed to be investigated. The whole "we'll test this for you, here's your numbers... next in line please" just smacks of a bad scenario. Time will tell though what AMD's plans have instore for...

    Monster Rig.

Find yourself a hospital supply shop and get 2 pair of "gurney wheels"... I believe each of those rolling beds weighs in excess of 300 lbs + weight of the occupant. And the wheels need ot ride smoothly! ;) Might be a smidge big for your case...

    LAN centers and the future

pretty cool that all of us in the DFW area end up meeting over here! ;) Plano for me, GameWyze seems to be doing a pretty decent biz up here in Plano, and I heard there is one in Dallas in a Mall I believe. DFWFrag, on of the local Dallas LAN party groups has a LAN every month that...
