Actually, unless the CPU runs constantly in temps of 80C and over, the CPU is NOY being risked. But, I always like my CPU to be less than 60, and if possible, even much much lower. For example, my current CPU runs on 27C idle and 49 on load.
Your drive should support both "-" and "+" discs. I think that the problem is just that you are using blank discs that are not compatible with your drive. Try discs from a different brand. GOOD LUCK. Keep updating us...;)
I would definitely go with the DFI. I think they are among the BEST motherboard manufacturers, if not THE best, especially if you're an overclocker.
Anyway, GOOD LUCK. ;)
I don't think ACER (or should I call them BENQ) are that bad. Of course they are not one of the leading hardware manufacturers but their products are pretty cheap and worth the money you're paying for. But hey, that's only my opinion. ;)
As your mobo doesn't support dual-channel, I don't see why not add another 512MB stick. You won't has any problems nor decrease in performance, but you can gain better performance, especially in games (if you are a gamer).
WOW  That's an absolutely amazing keyboard. I wish I'll be able to afford one when it will be available, but probably I won't as $200 (being optimistic) is a lot of money for a keyboard, altough this one really deserves that price tag. ;)
